The Groping Speechwriter

No, not groping for words. He, Jon Favreau, does well there by Obama supporters. His latest groping foray however, relates to a life-size cut-out of Hillary and the picture below.

What is displayed in that picture is sexist and misogynstic. BUT sadly sexism and misogyny charges have yet to make an impression on the general population in this election season. That is to be expected when the media after having participated in the orgy itself, has downplayed it all during this election. Even now Campbell Brown, the nitwit at the CNN in a classic fashion goes after Hillary Clinton while the perpetrator is let off the hook. How nice! Another opportunity to bash Hillary.

So let us take a different tack to send the message here and that message being that the groping speechwriter is an embarrassment to the new President-elect and should be fired.

There is no question Obama’s supporters say that they are inspired by his speeches. But who writes those words? A misbehaving groper of 20+ years with a juvenile attitude. So the more important question is where is that groper getting his inspiration to write those words? Looks more like a good wordsmith who recycles the same concepts and ideas and we even have seen him use/plagiarize catch phrases from other famous speeches. It certainly does not look like it comes from within for him. He is not going to write “women’s rights are human rights..” anytime soon unless he wants to plagiarize again because it sounds good.

Other NQ writers reacted to this news calling Obama campaign a startup, a startup for a sports business, or a fraternity, all of which seem apt to me. If that is the image Obama wants to portray going forward, fine. But in any other workplace this kind of lewd behavior against another employee goes by the name of sexual harassment. The real issue here is that the fellow employee Favreau is groping just happens to be the new face of America for the rest of the world negotiating treaties, conducting summits, and such for the new President. Isn’t anything sacred to these 20 and odd year olds? We have seen all kinds of shenanigans during this election, not just against Hillary but Palin too. Where do they draw the line?

Now tell me if the President-elect should still hire this juvenile as his chief speechwriter? The role does not suit the person, what do you think? I am sure Obama can find plenty of talented people who may just conduct themselves by the words they write to truly inspire a new generation. And then Obama can deliver their speech to perfection.

{Speaking for me only.}

    Anita Hill redo.

But this time its being blamed not on a real woman, but on a cardboard image of her.

    PUMA!!!

  • PJ

Has it only been 15 years since the Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill hearings? And where are our vocal feminist icons on this outrage? Still busy cozying up to the Obama “historical” aspect of this presidency?

This just adds to the mystique surround Obama; one more thing we do not know about this guy. Those women who rushed to support this candidate using the Supreme Court as reason enough to protect abortion rights need to take a hard look at where he comes down on feminist issues.

So far he had demonstrated very little to ensure that position is safe.

    • Kal

Indeed, during the campaigns his staffing and pay rates were far less gender equal than any of the other candidates’.

I think that called gender discrimination, isn’t it?

      • Concerned Mother

        Catharine MacKinnon on sexual harassment:

In 1977, MacKinnon graduated from Yale Law School after having written a paper on the topic of sexual harassment for Professor Thomas I. Emerson. Two years later, MacKinnon published “Sexual Harassment of Working Women,” arguing that sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and any other sex discrimination prohibition.[6]

In her book, MacKinnon argued that sexual harassment is sex discrimination because the act reinforces the social inequality of women to men (see, for example, pp. 116-18, 174). She distinguishes between two types of sexual harassment (see pp. 32-42): 1) “quid pro quo,” meaning sexual harassment “in which sexual compliance is exchanged, or proposed to be exchanged, for an employment opportunity (p. 32)” and 2) the type of harassment that “arises when sexual harassment is a persistent condition of work (p. 32).”

  • MrMike

Hillary should walk away from the Obama administration. This gives her the perfect excuse.

    • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com Undercover Black Man

Yes. That would display a lot of strength, wouldn’t it?

      • Concerned Mother

Yes, it would. Men like you who get off on rape and misogyny should be avoided at all costs.

  • LogicallySpeaking

Obama’s administration is probably secretly applauding this behavior… they know it attracts and keeps their misogynistic supporters happy.

  • Mother in KY

My tax dollars should not fund a man who acts out his rape fantasies on a sitting US Senator and former First Lady.

He should be fired. Over half of the taxpayers in this country are women.

  • Ashy1

If Obama retains this “genius” on his staff, it will reconfirm what I already believe, that Obama like his subordinate, has no class. I wonder what other surprises we’ll be seeing from the frat boyz in the White House over the course of the next four loooong years. How soon do you suppose the first toga party is scheduled? This indispensible “genius,” as I’ve heard him referred to on other blogs, needs some experience of the other “C-word”…consequences.

    • Concerned Mother

He MUST be fired IMMEDIATELY. There is no excuse, NONE, for this.

      I WANT HIM FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Mimi” wrote an absolutely awesome rant on this subject in a thread yesterday. Since I’m sure that some missed it, coming at the end of the thread as it did, I hope Mimi does not mind that I reproduce it here:

    Comment by mimi | 2008-12-07 22:39:58

The day Barack 0bama was elected, the White House became the Frat House. If 0bama doesn’t fire this guy, there’s no way to think otherwise. I guess they’ll be filling condoms up with water for balloon fights in the Rose Garden.

Frat boy and his gang of cheerleading supporters need to grow up. Or better yet, get a life. One that is cured of pathological and deranged fear of women, especially powerful women.

The timing on this is what speaks VOLUMES. The Primary is long been over. 0bama was not only coronated in Denver with the nomination back in August, he also won the Election in November.

Maybe frat-boy was too busy laying up with cardboard Hillary to notice that the guy he writes speeches for is now President-elect and he is employed as Director of Speechwriting in the White House.

Yo’ dude. It’s a new ballgame. You are now part of a presidential administration. You and your actions now represent us throughout the world.

I guess you’re too far down on the food chain to get that.

And if 0bama doesn’t fire you, then he clearly doesn’t get that either.

0bviously, 0bama can’t cut the umbilical cord that connects his voice to your words. Well, let me cut it for the President-s’elect:

What makes you think that anything, henceforth coming out of your mouth written from the hand of this asswipe will ever be really taken seriously again? Certainly not by me.

Nothing but words coming the emptiest hole in the Universe and devoid of anything remotely resembling a soul. Something most of us with perception understood about you anyway.

So I really look forward to your Inaugural Address as your dickless frat boy of a speech writer tries to channel at least one line that will live on in perpetuity.

I will simply sit back and just laugh, laugh and laugh. May even TIVO it and add a laugh track. Because there is nothing more laughable than knowing your personal speechwriter on his best day needs a cardboard Hillary just to get it up.

      Right, Mimi is right.

So, why bite ? (Ohter than the obvious, of course).

LOOK at the guy, he looks brain damaged, who lets something so mediocre into his inner circle?

If they’re so stupid they continue to alienate the people who will make, or break, their presidency, well, they deserve what they get.

They forget they can end up just like Bush, and Cheney, in fact, if I could see into the future, I would say they already have sealed their fate.

    • mountainaires

A tour de force, Mimi! I’m saving it, so I can read it again and again, as time goes on, because you’re so right–nothing that comes out of Obama’s cakehole will ever be credible as long as this asshole is crafting those words.

      FIRE FAVREAUX.

  • Paris

I can’t help but think perhaps some in Obama’s camp, (outside the stupid puppies) are embarassed by this picture.

You just can’t do business this way, it lacks class and professionalism.

And though of course it will be exploited, deep down, they know…

  • standard

Let’s all have fun with a Campbell Brown photo, and see how she likes it.

    • kgirl1028

Head over to River Daughters site. They have a whole bunch of photo shopped goodies.

      • Tess

The River Daughter site includes photoshopped Michelle cutout.
D’you remember during the campaign and the Primaries, while first Hillary and then Palin were eviscerated, the O declared Michelle “off limits”?
And the MSM said, “oh yeah, okay.”

    • mimi

That cnn hypocrite-in-residence, Campbell Brown, simply likes stirring the pot and turning the flame up on Hillary.

Hillary, soon-to-be part of the 0bama administration, is hardly in the position now to make a stink about this. What’s she gonna do? Throw a hissy fit over what most people are apparently dismissing as ‘boys-will-be boys’ fun? It’s beneath a sitting Senator and a future Secretary of State to engage.

I’m tired of EVERYBODY always holding Hillary accountable for EVERYTHING! Meanwhile letting 0bama off the hook.

This is for 0bama to fix. And for us to hold him and the people in the msm accountable for their blatant hypocrisy. I sent an e-mail to cnn asking “Where was Campbell Brown’s voice on the issue of the blatant sexism during the Primary and Election against Hillary and Sarah Palin?”

It’s our job to let them know that they might be able “to fool some of the people some of the time, but not ALL of the people ALL of the time”.

It’s our job to point out to 0bama that NOTHING coming from that speechwriters laptop will ever be taken seriously again. (See my comment below.)

Unless he FIRES this immature creep, I will keep referring to the White House as the Frat House until 0bama leaves office.

Perception is EVERYTHING. If this is how 0bama wants to be perceived, then I’m definitely going to roll with this.

Don’t let 0bama sweep this under the rug. Don’t let him keep being dissmissive over sexism. If we want to teach the frat boy misogynists in the photo a lesson, then we have to turn the heat up.

      It’s the only way.

  • mimi

Look at the one on the right and how he proudly displays his “Obama Staff” tee-shirt. Yeah, I’d really want these guys representing me for the highest office in the land.

I predict it’s going to be a very long four years. In fact, I’m going to start my “Obama End of Four Years” count-down clock as of today.

Let’s see. There are 23 days left in December, plus 20 days to the inauguration. So that’s 43 days plus (365 days x 4 years), so that works out to 1,503 days–and counting.

    • andrew191

Add one day, Feb. 29 2012, leap day. As Ambrose Bierce might say “One more dissappointment”.

  • Teresaa

I do hold Hillary somewhat accountable — to speak out against this.

By remaining silent and willing to “take a joke,” she’s sending absolutely the wrong message. Next we’ll hear other women told, “gee, Hillary can take a joke, why can’t you?”

In the end, the bottom line, is that this guy should be fired. I don’t depend on Obama to do it, the man is a slimeball. However Hillary should demand it, and if it doesn’t occur, she should leave this post and stay in the Senate, where she can make neener-neeners at Ms. Caroline, who wanted the post given to her on a silver spoon (like everything else in her life has been given).

But yeah, Obama is ultimately responsible, Hillary, however is responsible for not putting up with it.

    • Paris

I agree he should be fired, but remember Obama uses the tired and trite methods of ye old Alinsky.

Fortunately, he’s really not too bright.

And I mean that, he’s not bright.

    • mountainaires

Hillary should quit over Jon Favreaux’s animal-house behavior? Are you kidding? C’mon, you need to re-think that assertion. Grown-ups–mature adults–do not throw temper tantrums when juvenile adolescents behave like crude children. Sen. Hillary Clinton, now Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a very serious position, which is to say, the United States of America is her job one.

Quitting because of boorish, misogynist, drunken stupidity on the part of a speechwriter, would be childish.

      • mimi

        mountainaires,

        I agree with you.

This is why I maintain it’s OUR job to turn the heat up.

This is why I emailed cnn about their resident hypocrite, Campbell Brown.

Are we going to let her get away with this? She said NOTHING during the campaign and now all of a sudden this is a big deal.

I wholeheartedly agree. For Hillary to respond in her position right now would be unseemly.

It would be like Condoleeza Rice responding to Don Imus calling her a ‘nappy-headed ho.’

When Imus got fired over the women’s basketball incident, it was public outrage that was responsible, not the women’s team.

We come here to NQ and pour on the comments, well the least people can do is email cnn and others about this.

        TURN UP THE HEAT!

        • Concerned Mother

The only solution is to have Favreau fired. That is the only solution. What does it say about this country that men who grope replicas of the First Lady and a sitting US Senator are promoted to powerful positions in the White House?

Fire Jon Favreau. Fire him NOW.

        • untilthelastdogdies

Turn Up The Heat Indeed Mimi!

The first thing the President-Elect should do in support of his SOS is fire this mealy-mouthed little bastard. If Obama can’t do that, how can the American Public trust him to have her back against the likes of Putin et. al.,?????

Bottom line, Obama’s inaction on this matter will tell the tale.

Favreau did what he did because he knew he could. This misogyny was a daily practice coming out of this campaign. And I will even go so far to register that when he saw it, Obama had a good chuckle as well.

This is the same man who “flicked” Hillary off his shoulders and declared her “likable enough”. Sexism? He wallows in it.

    • Paris

I just can’t help but think of the song Balloon Man..

      Balloon Man

      (By Robin Hitchcock)

I was walking up Sixth Avenue when Balloon Man came right up to me
He was round and fat and spherical with the biggest grin I’d ever seen
He bounced on up toward me but before we could be introduced
He blew up very suddenly, I guess his name was probably Bruce

And I laughed like I always do
And I cried like I cried for you
And Balloon Man blew up in my hand

He spattered me with tomatoes, hummus, chick peas, and some strips of skin
So I made a right on 44th and I washed my hands when I got in

And it rained like a slow divorce
And I wish I could ride a horse
And Balloon Man blew up in my hand

I was walking up Sixth Avenue when Balloon Man blew up in my face
There were loads of them on Bryant Park so I didn’t feel out of place
There must have been a plague of them on the TV when I came home late
They were guzzling marshmallows and they’re jumping off the Empire State

And I laughed like I always do
And I cried like I cried for you
And Balloon Man blew up in my hand
Balloon Man blew up in my hand

He lumbered up toward me, but before we could be introduced 3a

And I wish I had eaten your horse 11b

And I wish that I’d stayed on course 11c

I wish the Titanic had not sailed on course 11d

      ——————————————————————————–

    • mimi

      I’m sure 0bama did chuckle.

Which is why it’s important to turn the heat up on HIM.

0bama should FAST FORWARD 11 years and ask how he’d feel about looking at a life-sized cardboard of Malia being groped.

I’m sure he’s incapable of imagining that since he’s safely in the parental cocoon of underage daughters.

But time stops for no one and little girls become women in no time.

Amen to your post! Favreau, Samantha Powers, Campbell Brown, the MSM, Harry Reid, etc. all have one thing in common, their fanantic devotion to BO. This behavior, attitude, and so on are reflective of our President-elect. The problem is that Cupcake could fire him, but he would just be back just like Powers and company.

Once honest journalists start reporting the fraud and duplicity of BO, we will start to see accountability from him and his administration.

How is former first lady and soon-to-be Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton supposed to go to the nations of the world and discuss our country’s interests with people who wish us well or ill when it’s clear the administration doesn’t respect her? You can be sure they’ll see this photo too.

It should mean something when our representatives speak in other countries on our behalf. They have already undermined her to the detriment of our country.

It amazes me that Campbell Brown has anything to say on this subject. During the primaries, I remember Geraldine Ferraro coming on CNN to talk about the role of sexism in the race. When she finished, Campbell Brown said, “I remember covering her run for VP.”

Good old Jack Cafferty said, “You did? Well you LOOK alot better than she does.”

Of course Campbell Brown immediately THANKED HIM for the ‘compliment’ that undermined Geraldine’s message AND Campbell’s interview. Then Cafferty asked his viewers, “Did sexism play a role in Hillary’s defeat?” I read the online babble from his viewers, not a single reply made note of the exchange.

    • oowawa

Given the present state of affairs in this country, there would be anarchy and chaos if 0bama was suddenly declared ineligible.

For those few who still refuse to accept that 0bama will get the opportunity to govern, simply does not constitute painting the rest of us here with broad strokes.

But you know, your guy could have shut this down ages ago by simply coughing up his original sealed/stamped BC in the first place. As long as he refuses to do that many will buy into the concept that there must be a problem.

I actually don’t care. I’m going to have more fun watching him govern.

The liberal fools are already frothing at the mouth. Some are even trying to say they ‘suspected’ 0bama would govern from the center all along.

    ROTFLMAO!

And it’s going to get better.

Even if Hillary gets kicked to the curb. Then what?

What’s President Frat Boy going to do when he doesn’t have Hillary to kick around?

But the point of this thread is to rally the troops about an issue we can get some traction on.

    FIRE FAVREAU!

The whitey tape are much like fools and their money. They will soon part when Frat Boy prez has to count all the bucks that will be stopping at his desk in the 0val 0ffice.

Most of us have our popcorn ready. It’s going to be fucking hilarious with or without the whitey tape and the original BC.

    And that’s just for openers.

      right on. well said!!

What was painted as the demon spawn of centrism will be conveniently swept under the rug. Ain’t rationalization just grand?

    • bob

Well, if you don’t care one way or the other, then let’s talk about it. Do you agree that Obama is has American and British dual citizenship as the plaintiff suggested?

      • wodiej

I believe if Obama truly is legitimate to be President, he should just produce the original, unforged birth certificate as well as his school and medical records. Unless he is hiding something there seems no reason not to.

“Most of us have our popcorn ready. It’s going to be fucking hilarious with or without the whitey tape and the original BC.”

Might be fun if it were not so serious a situation. Some of us are not going to be finding it much fun watching our constitution continue to be ignored and watching our once great country being minimized to just another third world country.

Sometimes we need laughter to help us through a grim situation.

  • tillthen

There is some perverse pleasure to be had watching this O’bot, an insider at that, getting his privates crushed, while the larger issues, as outlined by DON, weigh us down.

Jon molested a cardboard cut out, one of a woman old enough to be him Mom, a US Senator, for crying out loud.

That’s kind of gross, isn’t it?

Does that whole group of second and third tier Obama kook (and I include Obama in that category) have mother issues?

(First tier would be some of the better Clinton staffers — wait until it shakes out, should be very interesting, the Obama mediocrities who insist on gaming the Rovian way v the Clinton staffers who insist on viable policy, as with Cheney, I would expect the Clinton staffers to leave first, out in front of Obama, it’s my impression Obama’s lower staff people REALLY don’t get it…)

So the more important question is where is that groper getting his inspiration to write those words?

I recently heard a speech by Bill Clinton from 1992, the “place called Hope” speach. I think it’s clear where he gets his inspiration.

    • noproblama

      That’s “speech” of course.

32% of college women are victims of sexual assault. Domestic violence rates are shocking.

What strikes me most about this primitive, adolescent behavior?

    NOT A WORD FROM OBAMA.

    Nada.

He fired Samantha Powers for calling HRC a “monster,” but has done/said absolutely nothing about this. As we have witnessed all along, Obama is a coward. He never takes a courageous, “leadership” role that is not carefully crafted by advisors (with their ideas) or that does not benefit or defend his own career. Actions–not words. Again, he does nothing to impress that actually means anything. How would he feel if one of his daughters ran into these two at a frat party after they’d had too much to drink? Shameful.
