The ad that McCain never ran

Greta interviews the Chicago Sun-Times writer Lynn Sweet

Wright’s Fiery Sermon:

  • Mary Pat

Wright is a hateful man. He’s racist, sexist and, let’s face it, not all that fond of America. He also should study up on his WWII history before giving one of his “fiery sermons.”

It’s disgusting that Obama was a part of this man’s church for twenty years. That he viewed Wright as a mentor–and reportedly as a surrogate father–should have prompted every voter to seriously question Obama’s character and judgment. Perhaps if McCain had put Wright front and center early in the campaign, more people would have.

Obama either stayed at Trinity out of political expediency or because he was a true believer. That tells me all I need to know about what kind of man our next president really is.

  • socalannie

Amen. Agree with everything you said. The media did a collective yawn over the Wright story last spring, and now they’re noticing it. Also, what’s with Karl Rove saying McCain shouldn’t have used Wright as a campaign issue? Is he kidding? Does he think no one remembers the disgusting swiftboat campaign they ran against Kerry?

  • ame

It’s disgusting that Obama was a part of this man’s church for twenty years.

What is disgusting to me is the fact that most Americans don’t care that Obama’s (former) mentor was and still is a racist/hater. I’m sure most Americans were aware of Rev. Wright during the election and the outcome of it proves it. I couldn’t vote for someone who could sit in a church for twenty years and listen to that type of rhetoric.

Now Rev. Wright is again spewing his hatred and naming his enemies. I grew up in church and I’ve NEVER seen a preacher damn people from the pulpit. My pastors preached that only God could be the judge of each individual….that’s my experience with religion.

MORE PROOF of BO’s SEXIST BENT!

First Favreau, BO’s primary wordsmith, gropes a cardboard cut-out of HRC.

Now Wright, BO’s main ‘spiritual?’ advisor, calls Elizabeth Hasselback a “DUMB BOLND BROAD!”

Wonder if the View will comment on that?

  • lark

Maybe blacks are going to be promoting racism and separation by racial lines from now on. This problem belongs to African Americans. They are going to have to solve it all by themselves if they want to live in good standing with the rest of the American society from now on. Ayers belong to us.

If the SCOTUS now means we have no constitution to hold us together then we need to reopen an investigation into Ayers’ past criminal behavior and bring charges anew to put him in prison for a long time.

  • basil

    BOLND = BLONDE!

    (and I’m not – )

    JK!

  • basil

Wright and TUCC promote Black Liberation Theology which advocates (in its extreme forms) white genocide.

    Period.

Check Farrakhan’s and Mansour’s video clips. Wright is directly linked to them and, by extension, so is BO.

AA’s have already thrown the LGBT community under the bus.
White women (especially blonde broads) are just the latest targets. Under BO it’s politically correct to tar and feather ANY and ALL ethnic and gender groups EXCEPT AA’s.

  • CRS

WOW!!!! That is a good one!

  • wodiej

the black community is not concerned about anyone but their own. they have been raised in a culture to “hate whitey”. they are not interested in equal rights for everyone, just for themselves. In essence, they are not really for equal rights.

  • lark

Obama = Diminution through negative values.

    Obama = X + Y = A where Y = -X then A = 0

  • wodiej

I have been saying this since Wright was brought out of the closet. Anyone who would sit in a racist, hateful, angry, American hating church for 20 years has no business being the leader of anything, let alone President.

For people who say they want equal rights in society, this is a piss poor mentor to look up to and further that agenda. Wright is nothing of the sort. He is doing just the opposite.

  • basil

Personally,I can’t wait to see the reaction of BM when BO throws them, one-by-one, under the bus along with his pissed-off lefties.

I hope Crampbell brown is first, closely followed by Tweetie, Ogreman and Cadaverdy.

    BTW,
Wright also mocked Italian-Americans in that clip. (I couldn’t listen to the whole thing)

  • basil

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

    I am LMAO!

Makes you wonder why the African Americans chose a half white, half Arab Kenyan from a tribe of slavers who spent his childhood in a Muslim culture to represent their unique culture. There was much better representation within their own group that his cosmopolitan outsider pretending to be one of them. Soertoro/Obama even refused to honor their greatest hero Dr. Martin Luther King. You might have seen the Kennedy family scrambling to Soertoro/Obama’s side but the King family didn’t join them.

  • snosandy

This should be a very interesting news day!

  • S. Markom

Obama’s 20 relationship with Wright and his preachings – which are not just anti-American and racist (and more recently sexist), but heavily in favor of Hamas and the destruction of Israel – is why I am not willing to allow Obama any grace period and will view him with distrust unless he proves himself.

Regarding McCain, I can now understand why the Palin camp may have been very upset with his decision making. McCain had an obligation to the political party that nominated him and the people that voted for him to use that commercial and make it an issue. This was not like the William Ayers issue. This was, and is, a very relevant issue that he is now going where Obama will have to prove to the American public that his association with Wright was purely for political gain and not a core belief.

  • snosandy

FOX has it related to filling Obama’s Senate seat (selling it, and they’ve got it on tape).

  • Pennsylvania Red

All the Hopium smokers wallowing in the 0bama victory are just oblivious to the very fine line that the 0ne has to walk.

Imagine all the DC players who have “stuff” on him…starting with (but not limited to) the Clintons.

    Hear yee! hear yee!

    IL governor taken into custody!!

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2008/12/09/report-illinois-governor-taken-federal-custody/

  • Strawberrybitch

Jesse Jackson Jr was to take Barky’s senate seat? Damn, this guy really is into pay to play.

  • Paris

    From the Washington Post:

CHICAGO (AP) — An official says Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (bluh-GOY’-uh-vich) has been arrested in Chicago on corruption charges stemming from the selection of the successor to President-elect Barack Obama’s U.S. Senate seat.

U.S. Attorney’s office spokesman Randall Samborn says both Blagojevich and his chief of staff John Harris were arrested Tuesday. Authorities aren’t yet releasing details about those charges. However, a federal law enforcement official tells The Associated Press the governor is accused of corruption charges. The official says the charges stem from the selection process of a successor to Obama.

Federal prosecutors have investigated Blagojevich’s administration for at least three years. They’ve been looking at everything from how he hired people for state jobs to the actions of friends and contributors.

The governor has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
    ——————————

What does this mean for Obama?

  • Strawberrybitch

    Racist. (snark)

  • RJ

The bottom line is…it doesn’t matter what the president-elect did or didn’t do, who he associated with etc….the MSM will cover for him. Maybe someday the love affair will end and jounalistic integrity will make a comeback.

This means that the pardon pen heatedly used in the final last gasps of the Bush Administration won’t have time to cool before being picked up by the Obama Administration.

  • Strawberrybitch

No kidding. MSNBC is barely glossing over the Blago story with no mention to his ties to Rezco or Barky.

  • Disgusted

    Here is the latest.

CHICAGO – Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was arrested Tuesday on charges of conspiring to get financial benefits through his authority to appoint a U.S. senator to fill the vacancy left by Barack Obama’s election as president.

According to a federal criminal complaint, Blagojevich also was charged with illegally threatening to withhold state assistance to Tribune Co., the owner of the Chicago Tribune, in the sale of Wrigley Field. In return for state assistance, Blagojevich allegedly wanted members of the paper’s editorial board who had been critical of him fired.

Blagojevich also was charged with using his authority as governor in an attempt to squeeze out campaign contributions, prosecutors said.

Blagojevich’s chief of staff, John Harris, also was arrested.

Federal agents were in Blagojevich’s office in the Thompson Center in downtown Chicago on Tuesday morning.

Corruption in the Blagojevich administration has been the focus of a federal Operation Board Games involving an alleged $7 million scheme aimed at squeezing kickbacks out of companies seeking business from the state. Federal prosecutors have acknowledged they’re also investigating “serious allegations of endemic hiring fraud” under Blagojevich.

The Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday morning that the federal investigation had spread to Blagojevich’s efforts to fill the U.S. Senate vacancy left by the election of Barack Obama as president.

Political fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko who raised money for the campaigns of both Blagojevich and Obama is awaiting sentencing after being convicted of fraud and other charges. Blagojevich’s chief fundraiser, Christopher G. Kelly, is due to stand trial early next year on charges of obstructing the Internal Revenue Service.

Blagojevich, a Democrat, took the chief executive’s office in 2003 as a reformer promising to clean up former Gov. George Ryan’s mess.

Ryan, a Republican, is serving a six-year prison sentence after being convicted on racketeering and fraud charges. The decade-long investigation began with the sale of driver’s licenses for bribes and led to the conviction of dozens of people who worked for Ryan when he was secretary of state and governor.

  • bemused

Oh, I think the media is starting to look like one of those cartoon characters turning into a blur of hands and feet trying to plug the ever-increasing holes in a dike. First all the SCOTUS cases (and Donofrio is still pending, as I understand, only part was denied) with more every day, now Blago, who has been described as one who will not go down alone–what next.

  • TexasMirth

I feel like we went to sleep in America and woke up in Bizarro World. Corruption from within Camp Obama seems the norm, with the IL governor just being the latest addition to the list. Any and all questions that are linked to Obama or his associates are dismissed. The only scrutiny given is to those who dare to question.
Billy Ayers is just the boy next door. Rev. Wright, who won’t go gentle into the night, but instead, returns to the pulpit to spew ridiculous and insulting distortions about December 7th, 1941…did any network other than Fox expose this blathering anti-American, narcissistic loon? I forgot to add: mentor to our future president.
    I want my country back!!!

  • Annie Oakley

In one charge related to the appointment of a senator to replace Barack Obama, prosecutors allege that Blagojevich sought appointment for himseld as Secretary of Health and Human Services in the new Obama administration, or a lucrative job with a union, in exchange for appointing a union-preferred candidate.

Doesn’t this imply that not only did they want a replacement senator as crooked as the one they just lost, but that Blagojevich wanted to move up to the national level of organized crime with Obama. National health care! The only game with as much money as defense and more than housing. It sounds like the deal he was seeking was with Obama’s people.

  • Strawberrybitch

Does this not want to make you scream? How in the hell did Barky make it all the way to the White House? Seriously, he’s making guys like Tom Delay and Duke Cunningham look like pikers. I need to go bang my head against a wall for a while.

  • wodiej

gee maybe Obama has a place for this corrupt official in his cabinet…..

  • Annie Oakley

They also allege Blagojevich is heard on tape demanding a corporate board seat for his wife worth as much as $150,000 a year; promises of campaign funds, including cash up front; and the post of secretary of health and human services or an ambassadorship for himself in the Obama administration.

And who in the Obama administration was negotiating this?

This is why Obama hid his state record. This is what you call a community organizer.

  • Strawberrybitch

OMG….good question…who could have the power to grant these things…the puppet or the puppet master…and which is Barky? Wow, this just opens up a whole new can of worms. My head is spinning.

  • Pennsylvania Red

Someone on NQ commented that the IL AA legislators were demanding an AA senator replace 0bama. Since JJ Jr. is now out, maybe Carol Moseley Braun will be pressed into service.

  • Touchet

They don’t think he is racist. The majority of Americans right now are hatefull. He embodies their hate.

The other half who voted for him think that the republicans were trying to smear Obama.

Obama hasn’t even taken office yet and all this crap is comming right back up to the surface. He is a lame duck before he even gets into office. Thats sad. Obama’s past will not allow him to make any changes in america’s attitude. Vindication is not a virtue, its a heavy burden that will weigh him down in the long term.

  • Annie Oakley

Likewise. It is frustrating. We know the media is corrupt, but the American people are willing to be mislead. They don’t want the truth. It is too complicated.

  • Pennsylvania Red

    Yawn!!!!!!

    Are you tired?

poor baby, you should take a nap…for about 4 years.

Could it be Rahm “I worked HUD for Daley” Emanuel? Or, was it some flunky?

  • Touchet

What is interesting here is that Obama was supposed to the messiah, ushering in a new world peace as African americans finally got to “join in”. The thing is, they were already Americans. I just don’t understand why they don’t get it. It truely saddens me, and frustrates me to absolutely no end that they accepted this fraud as their first representative. It is already apparent that he is doing nothing but hurting them.

From I and Thou by Martin Buber as translated by Walter Kaufmann:

Mundus vult decipi — the world wants to be deceived. The truth is too complex and frightening; the taste for the truth is an acquired taste that few acquire.
“Not all deceptions are palatable. Untruths are too easy to come by, too quickly exploded, too cheap and ephemeral to give lasting comfort. Mundus vult decipi; but there is a hierarchy of deceptions.
“Near the bottom of the ladder is journalism: a steady stream of irresponsible distortions that most people find refreshing although on the morning after, or at least within a week, it will be stale and flat.
“On a higher level we find fictions that men eagerly believe, regardless of the evidence, because they gratify some wish.
“Near the top of the ladder we encounter curious mixtures of untruth and truth that exert a lasting fascination on the intellectual community.”

strawberry, as much as i disliked delay i’ll give him this, he took care of his district. obama never did that in chicago. during allison, houston was under water in large parts of the city. no surge just endless rain! mayor brown stood around with a deer in the head lights look while delay and cohorts stood in the other corner getting us help. that is more than perry has done also after ike. and i say again i am no delay fan.

What’s with the carrying on about the bombing of Japan anyway? I think Rev. Wright has a bigger problem with the facts than merely getting Pearl Harbor mixed up with Hiroshima. Not alot of Americans know about it, but during WWII, Japan had an empire in Asia at the same time they were Nazi allies. They massacred the citizens of Nanking (see Iris Chang’s gut-wrenching study of that situation), colonized and oppressed Korea and Taiwan, had human medical experimentation facilities throughout Southeast and East Asia, including a Chinese facility called Pingfang where kidnapped Chinese had pretty brutal experiments done on them, then the kidnapped comfort women they took from various countries in that region. How in the world can he justify his despicable position of sympathy with the Japanese when this is such a huge sticking point in East Asian politics, when the Japanese government has rather pointed been unwilling to deal with their war crimes, even to not be able to call them warcrimes. What does this Wright character actually know about the subject? Dropping the bomb on Hiroshima didn’t happen just because we were bored that day in America and thought we’d do something mean to some non-whites. There was all this stuff going on, they were serious aggressors in the war and a lot of people were suffering under them. The bomb was a way to end it, and if memory serves, it wasn’t the easiest decision to make. But somehow that gets twisted into this unbelievable rant against America. I can’t even fathom it.
