Obama Supporters Censor Questions on Blagojevich

We have all seen the liberal media go to the dogs this election season. For those of us who watched closely the Democratic primary and then the general election, the self-censorship regarding Obama that went on in the American media is mind boggling. Is this what the finest and the most sophisticated democracy in the world has to offer? The uninformed/misinformed public was a different story. They bought the Obama fairytale lock, stock, and barrel. They avoided reality like the plague. Some of the more obvious supporters are still doing that, that is avoiding reality and hard questions.

It appears that Obama has set up a nifty tool called “Open for Questions” on his transition Website, Change.gov. Anybody can ask Obama a question. Here is a sampling of questions posed by the public on the Website (from Political Punch):

“Is Obama aware of any communications in the last six weeks between Rod Blagojevich or anyone representing Rod Blagojevich and any of Obama’s top aides?” – J, NYC

More
“Did you or anyone from your transition office or proposed administration meet with or speak to the US Attorney’s Office regarding the investigation of Governor Blagojevich before his arrest on December 9th?” -S, MI

“How was Governor Blagojevich able to ascertain that PEBO was against Jesse Jackson Jr. but for Valerie Jarret (sic), and was unwilling to offer anything but words for appointing Jarret (sic) if PEBO or his transition team never spoke to the governor’s office?”-Brian Francis, Rossford, OH

All legitimate questions given the developments of the last two days. Only one problem: they are hidden away. Tapper and Miller explain:

Fifty-six questions have come in from people across the country dealing with Blagojevich. Most of them, however, are not readily visible — one has to use the “search” function to find them.

Why?

Because users of the Transition website are allowed to “flag as inappropriate” any question they don’t like.

Apparently, Obama supporters (one presumes that’s who’s voting this way) think that any question that might make the president-elect uncomfortable is “inappropriate.”

Obama supporters must not understand the concept of free and fair dialogue. They are so eager to censor you when they don’t like what you say or ask. They must have learnt from the media masters, the best in the business this election season.

Well I had an interesting session today with my shrink. And now I have consumed enough wine to lower my inhibitions to the point where I am willing share it with you.

She was playing word association to get to the root of my deeply recessed psychosis. She would say a word and I would reply. Here is how it went:

      Her: Resko
      Me: Crime

      Her: Chicago
      Me: Crime

      Her: Blago
      Me: Crime

      Her: Obama
      Me: Criminal

      Her: Michelle
      Me: Skanky Criminal

      Her: Hillary
      Me: President

      Her: Governor Palin
      Me: Future President

And when the session ended my therapist told me that I was perfectly normal and I would no longer be in need of further therapy. Yippee.

The general media censorship, or minimizing, of anything negative about Obambi is an amazing and sickening thing. Watching Him and His followers weasel word their way around difficult questions and appearances is just plain horrible. I hope Hillary is preparing a leak machine to expose him to death by a thousand whispers during his administration.

    • oowawa

The media’s new role will be to plug the leaks. This is how Chris Matthews can serve in his new role of ensuring the O administration is a flaming success.

    • sowsear

Apparently the MSM is all running the same talking points concerning Blago’s mental health, and they are all commenting that BO came up smelling like roses even though the Chicago manure nurtured him. Ain’t fertilizer wonderful?

      • oowawa

        LOL–The Chicago political cesspool–
        Why, it’s Miracle-Gro!

      • Galt

The fourth estate has lost all credibility. I literally have not watched the broadcast MSM for months now and only hear about them second hand on a few blogs I visit.

        • NoBamaNoWay

same here. haven’t watched MSM since january, and not much before that.

Like Murphy says he’s not crazy, he’s broke.

    • Justine

The fact that you have to ‘search’ for questions is hardly suspicious nor does it signal suppression on the part of obama’s change.gov site. For crying out loud.. I read there were something over 100,000′s of questions – what do you think, all would be readily ‘visible’ when one goes to that site?
talk about making sinister out of NOTHING!

  • Peggy Sue

With voters like these . . . you can kiss our notion of a Democratic society gone, gone, gone.

If the Obama folks don’t like the heat? Get out of the kitchen, as they say.

I’ve been out most of the day, but I caught the tail end of a discussion [the Capitol Gang, I think]. The panelists were discussing the media’s attention to the Chicago fiasco, the way even the national press was pushing the Obama team for clear, direct answers. Charles Krauthammer said something to the effect that their attention was tepid to warm at best but amazing when you consider they refused to look at anything “before” the election.

Sad but true. Worse yet, info about these unholy alliances were out there for the taking. There were reporters in Chicago reporting on this mess more than a year ago. Not to sound like a broken record but Evelyn Pringle ran her series on the web for everyone to read. But few did.

And now it’s raining corruption and lies and fraud from all directions.

    Sad state of affairs!

Oh, and just as an aside: last night my husband I went target shooting at our local gun shop. Right behind the register was a large poster with Obama’s face on it. The banner above read: Employee of the Month. Why? This particular shop had record receipts in the month of November. I talked to one of the guys and he said December is ranking right up there as a #2 boffo month.

    Scary times we’re living in.

    • oowawa

Right behind the register was a large poster with Obama’s face on it.

O God, Peggy Sue, at first I thought you were going to say they were selling the poster as . . . well, I can’t even say what I thought you were going to say.

      • Peggy Sue

No, oowawa. No one was suggesting target practice or a “wanted” poster. God forbid. If that were the case, I would not do business there. I don’t like Obama but that’s the last thing I’d ever want to see or even have suggested. I think the country would literally implode, and Obama [for all his faults] has two little girls and a wife. That in itself means something to me. As does the office of POTUS.

But actually, I thought the poster was clever and really brought the anxiety of ordinary folks home. And the people on the range? They’re not the stereotypical yahoos. These are people from all walks of life–country boys to professional types [suits] alike. All ages and genders, too. Men and women [pretty evenly split] and 20 somethings to 80 somethings. A broad crosscut. I’ve seen everyone there. I’ve seen us.

And the target range? It was mobbed, busier than I’ve ever seen it.

        As I said, scary times.

        • oowawa

So folks are buying guns and brushing up on their shooting skills because they are afraid that we are headed into a bad situation and they will have to defend themselves against attack. And the election of O increased these fears and increased gun sales. Is that it? I wonder how many would admit this in so many words. I also wonder if gun sales are up among Obama supporters.

          • Peggy Sue

I can tell you flatout, oowawa–the increase of sales are directly linked to Obama’s election and the uneasy feeling people have about Second Amendment Rights being curtailed.

If you were to go to a gun shop, talk to the employees and customers, they would not hold back or be a bit shy about their feelings–the increase in sales are directly linked to the November election. No secret, no pc mumbo-jumbo.

There is serious anxiety out in the hinterlands. And there’s plenty to be anxious about as we stand on an economic and international precipice with a totally inexperienced [and perhaps, corrupt] leader at the helm.

Is it crazy? I really hope so. But that didn’t keep me from buying a new gun or sharpen my skills at the shooting range.

As for Obama supporters? No, they’re still drinking the koolaid and believe kumbaya will save the day. I wish that were true. But I’m not about to bet my life or the welfare of my family on it.

            • oowawa

Thank you Peggy Sue for taking the time to explain this (I don’t get out much, and “pc mumbo jumbo” is pretty much where I live). I think this report from the “Hinterlands” would be one of the items ignored by the MSM Hopey-Changey news nowadays.

        • Andrew P

What is scary is the idea that “the country would literally implode” under those circumstances. If that is the case we are a lot worse off than I imagined.

It didn’t happen in the US with Lincoln. It didn’t happen in India with Gandhi. And these were people who REALLY brought change.

          • Peggy Sue

Andrew, I would agree with you but for the fact of the emotional investment that Obama supporters have made in “the faith”–Obama, the phenomenon, the savior. I’ve always thought there was something very creepy about the whole movement, something that wasn’t rational, something that bordered on religious zeal.

Therein lies the danger. Cultish mentality is not stable and can nosedive, quickly, tragically. We’ve seen the results of faux-Messiah cults in the past. Cults of personality are not healthy for any society. And when conditions in the world are so fragile and vulnerable, the danger is even greater.

Believe me, I hope I’m wrong, just an alarmist crank. But my gut, my baseline instinct feels very uneasy.

I hope I’m wrong, for all our sake’s.

    • Justine

I would take you a bit more seriously if you had not said you went ‘target shooting’ – this is something you are proud of? making a joke of the fact that Obama’s possible gun control leanings are causing people to buy guns in record numbers? I think its sick and you must be too.yuk!

Think of all the money they wasted on a Dem primary.

    • http://ezinearticles.com/?Three-Basic-Parenting-Styles&id=744499 Northwest rain

The thug 0bots attempted to shut down any real discussion about Obama all during the primary — they got down right nasty whenever anything negative (but TRUE & HONEST) was written about Obama.

So it is no surprise that the 0bots will continue to block any meaningful discussion & questions about the ONE. I expect this is want Obama wants — he can’t handle tough questions. He ran away after just a few questions. If he really wanted questions the website would have been set up without the censorship built in.

Passive Aggressives are just so damned predictable.

      • Winston

The only time Obama tells the truth is when he pauses to say “uggh”. And that’s no lie.

    • Kal

I do really think that shows like Survivor, American Idol, and other fixed-scenario ‘winner takes all’ so-called reality shows have culturally changed how people imagine democracy works. The nasty little side-deals, undermines, and corruption modeled on Survivor, the ‘phone your vote in as many times as you want’ mentality of American Idol, and the complete de-emphasis on ability, achievement, vision, and integrity in these shows has operated much the same way all those morality plays used to operate in other eras — literally modeling for people how things outside their personal experience work, what’s right and what’s wrong, and what life is really all about.

We can’t say we didn’t see it coming!!

    An Obama-Blagojevich-SEIU Link?

    http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2008/12/an_obamablagojevichseiu_link_1.asp

    Excerpt:

“This is the first report I have seen indicating that one lobbying/public relations firm could be a link between Governor Blagojevich, the SEIU, and the Barack Obama campaign. Did Blagojevich use Bill Knapp to reach out to the Obama campaign — via Knapp’s partner Anita Dunn — to determine whether Obama might offer something of value in return for naming Valerie Jarrett to the Senate? That’s a key question. It would be gratifying if Knapp would answer, but it’s possible that he’s too busy discussing it with law enforcement.”

    • educatedwhitewoman

      And this:

Blagojevich has relied heavily on political advice from inside-the-Beltway strategists since taking over the statehouse.

In particular, political consultant William Knapp of Washington-based Squier Knapp Dunn Communications has worked closely with the Illinois governor.

Knapp’s partner, Anita Dunn, was a top adviser to Obama during the presidential campaign.

Knapp, who is a member of the governor’s small inner circle of advisers, helped develop the strategy that catapulted Blagojevich to become the first Democrat in 26 years elected Illinois governor.

In doing so, Knapp became Blagojevich’s highest-paid Washington consultant.

“Friends of Blagojevich,” his gubernatorial campaign committee, spent more than $12 million from January 2002 to December 2006 with Knapp’s firm, according to state campaign finance records.

More than $315,000 was for the firm’s political consulting work; most of the rest covered media buys and advertising…

Squier Knapp has also returned the favor. The firm contributed $105,113 to Blagojevich during the 2008 election cycle, according to the National Institute on Money in State Politics.

Knapp, who led the Clinton/Gore presidential campaign’s creative team in 1996, has also worked for the Service Employees International Union, which was named in the government’s criminal charge as one of the organizations Blagojevich was hoping would provide him with lucrative employment after he left Illinois.

Squier Knapp received more than $4.6 million from the SEIU for political activities and consulting in 2007, according to Department of Labor records.

Knapp did not return calls and e-mails requesting comment for this article.

      • Kal

Is this Anita Dunn one of the longtime powerful Chg Dunns?

If so, that’s another deep tentacle going right to the heart of the machine.

An interesting Chicago reporter named Kaas (Richard?) has been seen on a few TV shows. He’s pretty crusty and funny and takes the MSM to task for projecting Obama as some sort of Mr. Tumnus character rather than the Chicago pol that he is. I hope that more from the Windy City will be making the rounds to tell it like it is rather than how they wish it were.

    • Peggy Sue

John Kass is one of the Chicago Tribune reporters [in the real sense of the word] who has been on this story from the start. He deserves attention. He’s been digging and pushing and screaming for months and months and months.

Finally, people are taking their heads out of the sand and listening.

Too bad it didn’t happen before November 4th.

Apathetically sitting on your ass an being uninformed an ignorant, and proud of it is not that gee goly great either. You contribute so little to society and life in general to the point that someone else has to tell you what to think. How the hell would you know whether anyone has anything you are too lazy to look. Keep letting other people create your reality and tell me were it gets you. Obama supporters are no less moronic than the people who believe that iraq had something to with nine eleven even though it was obvious that Sadaam and Bin Laden would have nothing to do with each other, was a good idea to blow them up. that’s the difference between people that think an people who don’t, it has nothing to do with party an everthing to do with americans being happily blissfully uninformed and willfully ignorant to anything that does not tickles your fancy. I can’t wait until obama tells most of you to slit your own throat and you comply, the world will be a whole lot nicer without the dead weight. I have never met a group of people so proud of the fact that they are inept at picking good leaders.

Stop the call for constitutional convention at this time. Ohio is the 33rd state and only 34 needed to force the call with an open agenda:
    ACTION TO TAKE

We need only stop the House bill, HJR8, sponsored by Representative Louis Blessing, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee (there is a Senate bill too).

    1. Call Chairman Blessing’s office and tell his staff you oppose a Constitutional Convention and you want this process stopped.

Tell them this is the most dangerous time ever to call for such a convention.

Tell them no one can control the debate or outcome of a Con Con.

    Representative Louis Blessing
    Phone: (614) 466-9091
    Fax: (614) 719-3583
    Email: district29@ohr.state.oh.us

    2. Call Representative Bill Batchelder. He is a very good man. I’ve known him for years. But he has been misled on this issue. The word is he is wavering. Your calls can convince him to withdraw his support. That can kill this bill.

    Representative Bill Batchelder
    Phone: (614) 466-8140
    Fax: (614) 719-3969
    Email: district69@ohr.state.oh.us

    3. It is URGENT that you make your calls right now. The bill could be voted on as early as this afternoon (Wednesday).

I’m so sorry for this late notice. We just found out about this last night.

Please get this message out far and wide. This task requires our very best effort! E-mail and call your friends, family and neighbors. Network anywhere and everywhere possible. Meh… oh the outrage. Yeah, there are some questions and it does seem like people in Obama’s staff had some contact with some intermediaries with Blago’s campaign when you read some of the transcripts. But it certainly doesn’t look like this is some horrible smoking gun. As a matter of fact, there was a rumor that Rahm Emanual may have tipped off the feds (who knows at this point – it’s so early). So lets wait awhile before forming the mob and gathering the burning torches.

Obviously it is too much to expect of this website. I mean, you guys aren’t as bad as the utterly retarded hillary is 44 (OMG those guys are a riot!), but you’ve certainly lost your share of credibility (remember when you spouted off about the supposed Michelle Obama ‘whitey tapes’ that were obviously nothing more than a false internet rumor, even at the time???)

I don’t know why you guys are so angry, anyways. Even the small bits of potential scandal we see in Obama are nothing when compared to that of the Clintons.

(sigh… why do I waste my time arguing with a brick wall).

Wow, great strategy, Matt! When anyone asks questions about the Messiah, provide a distraction by pointing at the Clintons.

And by the way, didn’t the Messiah give us the impression that all his criticism of the Clintons was just campaign talk? You know – campaign talk, like saying he was going to renegotiate NAFTA, filibuster FISA, Hillary’s only foreign policy experience was attending tea parties – that campaign talk.

I just wanted to point out that there was nothing initially negatively said about Bush either. The press ignored many things in an effort to push the neocon agenda. The media is neither “liberal nor conservative”. It is a mouth piece for their corporate sponsors in their attempts to subdue the masses for their own profits. “Liberal versus Conservatives” is just a red herring to detract attention from what is really going on in this country. Labels are merely interchanged during election cycles to keep the citizens distracted.

If the media was “so liberal” we would be inundated with stories of the military industrial complex excesses. The gutting of our Constitution. The treatment of detainees and secret wiretapping. The raiding of Wall Street and our Treasury. More stories about how the Republicans and the Democrats are full of corruption engaging hand in hand to further their own power and greed. The lack of accountability of our elected officials to enforce the laws and act as real governing officials. The lack of oversight and prosecution of the real offenders. Impeachment is off of the table, but yet we have days and days of Blago idiocy. We get stories about how illegal immigrants, gay marriage, birth control and abortion are the “real issues” facing this country.
