Pants Are On Fire. Again.

Deadenders has some interesting snapshots in his piece entitled Scrub A Dub Dub, Obamatize The Web.

I guess this article was never really here. Well, it’s not really here now.

Just sayin’.

Yesterday:

“I have not discussed the Senate seat with the governor at any time.”

“Ill governor meeting with Obama today

By Carol Sowers

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled

That’s one of Obama’s first priorities today.

He’s meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon in Chicago to discuss it.”

  • http://mywholesalecenter.com/489833 Cherry Walker

“I did not have sex with that woman” will forever be etched in some of our minds in connection to a different president.
Obama has practiced his denial statement so that he can deliver it smoothly with only a few uhhhhs and errrrrs. By the end of his term he should have it down pat.

    • Esther Morgenstern

I’ll never forget that spectacular assertion by Clinton ” I did not have sex with that woman” !!! The same crap is developing in this Blago case, lies and more lies, its like a spider web, the more lies are offered up, the more intangled the perp gets.– It will be a revelation….in due time….

      • WildChild

I’LL never forget that the conservatives felt consensual sex needed to be investigated by and independent council. What a bunch of twisted voyeurs.

        • stodgie

they weren’t voyeurs for the most part. they were political opportunists in my view. some in their base were self righteous bigots who wanted to tell us all how to live. dang now the far left is doing the same thing. frankly, i am sick of both sides.

      • stodgie

esther, what bill clinton does in privacy is none of your damx business.

      • MrMike

“I did not have sex with that woman” will forever be etched in some of our minds in connection to a different president.

I believe the full quotation is “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.”
As you can see the comma after the word woman means he is addressing Monica denying he had sex with Katheryn Willy. :)
But then denying something that had no business being aired in the first place, except the republicans were itching for pay back for Watergate, hardly made a dent in his approval ratings when Bill left office. Much to the dismay of republicans.

      • trixta

        Sexual affair . . . . bribery & extortion . . . . Humm . . . yeah these two things are equal! As if . . . !

    • Lil’ Mike

Clinton never said, “I did not have sex with that woman”

When you put something inside quotation marks you are supposed to be actually quoting that person not making shit up like they do on the cable TV news.

      Look up his real quote.

      • NoBamaNoWay

besides, whether he did or didn’t have sex with her is nobody’s business. elected officials trading political favors to serve themselves instead of serving their constituents IS the people’s business.

        • Morgan

My opinion is that it was, it left our President wide open to blackmail, it ended up with people with security clearance that shouldn’t have had it, etc.

If it’s not a secret that you’re scared of being discovered– great. Screw anyone you want. But when you’re willing to break laws or spend public money to cover it up, it is definitely my business.

But your point is still made, this kind of thing is even worse.

          • C.S.

If you think a consensual affair left the presidency open to blackmail, what does the selection of a mystery man like Soertoro/Obama do to it?

The very fact that we watched the democratic party take votes from other candidates to give to the man running under the name Barack Obama just to close the gap between him and Senator Clinton is worse than any blackmail threat either Clinton might have encountered…unless the Democratic party was being blackmailed by the Obama campaign. I’ll take my chances with a sex scandal over election fraud any time.

          • Kostermann

As opposed to blackmail via corruption, including Cheney, and Bush, as well as Obama?

(Cheney and his energy dealings should be investigated, fully, for starters. I would think the Republicans “pay to play,” too, including some in the White House).

A blow job is the least of it.

          • sandi78

I’ll agree that it left our president open to blackmail, but who got “security clearance” that shouldn’t have had it? As far as I know, you don’t need “security clearance” to into the White House, or even into the Oval Office.

As for a “secret that you’re scared of being discovered”, did it never occur to any of the Republican hounds that like all men who have flings on the side, including many, many Republicans, he just didn’t want his wife to know? Not saying it was a good thing, but it got so out of perspective that we’re still talking about it today.

      • JozefAL

His real quote: “I did not have sexual relations with that woman. . . .” It goes on a bit more, but that’s the relevant point.
So, “sex”, “sexual relations”. Big deal.
Given the way the media has let Obama’s many slips of the tongue get by without paying any serious attention, I think you’re really picking a serious nit.

        • http://ezinearticles.com/?Three-Basic-Parenting-Styles&id=744499 Northwest rain

This is NOT about Clinton – you dufus.

And Lil’ Mike is correct — when you put words in quotes — that means you are quoting someone.

          There is a BIG difference.

You are a dufus for bringing this up — Clinton was a very long time ago. What he did was personal — between himself and Hillary Clinton — basically it was NONE of our business.

What Obama is doing IS OUR business — it is about his conduct and it is about the way he will conduct the business of OUR country.

          • Winston

So it is none of our business if the President of the US wants to shove cigars up a 23 year old interns hole IN THE OVAL OFFICE with the first Lady down the hall and Arafat on the Phone? I strongly disagree with you on this.

            • WildChild

you would. LOL it seems that your average perv would want to know all about the above and then talk about it for the next three or more presidential terms because they just didn’t get enough of it all back then.

                wildchild,

That’s not the only thing some people aren’t getting.

            • C.S.

Oh Winston, if it is sexual misbehavior you want, there is a plethora of accusations against Soertoro/Obama that have never been checked out. Guess we need a special prosecutor for that, too.

Since sexual behavior of presidential candidates is so important you would think the media and political parties would have done a Ken Starr on the Obama guy before We the People got thisclose to another brush with presidential blackmail, wouldn’t you?

            • stodgie

winston it is none of your damn business what clinton does in private. get a life and shut up.

            • MrMike

So it is none of our business if the President of the US wants to shove cigars up a 23 year old interns hole IN THE OVAL OFFICE with the first Lady down the hall and Arafat on the Phone?

The question that was never answered is, “Who did Bill give that cigar to after he was finished?” My feeling is it was either Newt or perhaps Bush when he visited the White House after he won.

          • TeakWoodKite

Thanks Northwest Rain, Trying to stay informed is like drive the highway with huge chunks of it missing where only yesterday it was whole.

Geez, I can’t even imagine all the crap BO is exposed to blackmail over.

      • Winston

Clinton never said, “I did not have sex with that woman”

Clinton said, “I did not have sex sexual relations with that woman”.

Lil Mike, you are right. That misquote by Cherry Walker was an utterly radical distortion and in no way even remotely resembles what Clinton really said. Sex and sexual relations are almost semantic opposites with any number of possible interpretations.

And we must be very very careful over the definition if what “is” is.

        • WildChild

I think it’s really funny that Bill Clinton still drives the fringe up a wall.

          • Ferd Berfle

Extremists dislike the Clintons because they aren’t beholden to either side and maintain centrist positions, in spite of pressure. Clintons are the adults of politics as apposed to the extremist, tantrum-throwing children.

            Waaaah, it’s all Clinton’s fault.

            • http://www.suntimes.com/news/sneed/1325772,CST-NWS-SNEED.article PKJayne

              Amen Ferd!

              and good morning to you!

              • Ferd Berfle

Good Morning to you, PK. It still surprises me that the nutjobs will try to use Clinton as an excuse for any sort of unethical behavior. The Clinton presidency is now only a fond memory for me.

The bots just refuse to own their That One. Their battle flag is a white field with a single yellow stripe down the center and their coat of arms, a pair of pointing fingers and the motto, “he did it”. Such brave souls, these obamalobotobots.

                • PKJayne

Yes, their sole weapon being scrubbing to boot!

It’s going to be a very rough four years, if we survive it.

      • lark

The issue is that the quote, whichever reveals an a Presidential intention to obfuscate the truth by either forwarding a personal definition of words or by forwarding a limited definition of words. In both cases the President’s intention is to sail forward by lying to the public in order to make himself look good and get away with a public concern and a denigrate a public interest.

The problem is that one lie lead to another and then to completely loose confidence of the public.

One the other hand one lie if a person is normally telling the truth does not have to constitute a crisis of confidence. But in Obanana’s case one cannot figure out why the public actually preferred to elect a pathological liar and then expect that the liar get the confidence of others. Each Obanana voter knowing full well that he was a liar expected the liar to be trusted by the rest of the American public. What kind of idiots have we become?

That is not the only scrubbed article.

As of December 11, Blago had a two page newsletter in full color, called “Governor’s Gazette” on his official state website. ‘Governor’s Gazette Edition 1′ (!!)

The entire first page was about Blag The Inhaler’s meeting on November 5 with Bama. Full color photo of the two conversing nose-to-nose.

Surprise!!!! It’s been scrubbed! Gone! Missing! It was on a link (gone) on his site “Gazette Archive” file http://www.illinois.gov/govgazette/

    Poof.

This might be the same link, if it’s not scrubbed too

      http://americanpumainitaly.blogspot.com/2008/12/it-depends-on-your-definition-of-what.html

As well as screen caps of the article from Nov. 8, that reports that Obama and Blago met, from the same Tri-State media.

So, the paper can scrub, and then provide their neat little statement that they can’t confirm the meeting took place, but they are ignorning their own paper’s article that the meeting DID take place.

The Democratic party really has went off the deep end about Obama. Scrubbing stories from websites. They will only be able to do this so long before it all blows up in their face. With Chicago being so corrupt can you imagine what might happen to someone blowing the whistle on Obama? But I think it’s only a matter of time. There’s so much on Obama that it’s inevitable it’s going to crash in on him.

Thanks Uppity for the screen shot and post. I guess the far left geeks aren’t the only ones who are savvy about technology eh?

How strange. That source, “Connect TriStates” said the meeting would occur; and here, they state that is HAS occurred: (Also disappeared but cached).

“Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it.”

Then, they retracted the story altogether.

Imagine how proficient they are by now with scrubbing. As I surfed back into last March to retrace my steps with this election, I came across this that hasn’t beem scrubbed yet.. Remember?
    ******************************
    Thursday, March 13, 2008
LAST NIGHTS SESSION WAS ONLY THE FOURTH TIME IN 176 YEARS THAT CONGRESS CLOSED ITS DOORS TO THE PUBLIC
Word has begun leaking from last nights special, closed-door session of the United States House of Representatives.
Not only did members discuss new surveillance provisions as was the publicly stated reason for the closed door session, they also discussed:
the imminent collapse of the U.S. economy to occur by September 2008,

the imminent collapse of US federal government finances by February 2009,

the possibility of Civil War inside the USA as a result of the collapse,

advance round-ups of “insurgent U.S. citizens” likely to move against the government,

The detention of those rounded-up at “REX 84″ camps constructed throughout the USA,

the possibility of retaliation against members of Congress for the collapses,

the location of “safe facilities” for members of Congress and their families to reside during expected massive civil unrest

the necessary and unavoidable merger of the United States with Canada (for its natural resources) and with Mexico (for its cheap labor pool),

the issuance of a new currency – THE AMERO – for all three nations as the proposed solution to the coming economic armageddon.

Members of Congress were FORBIDDEN to reveal what was discussed. Several are so furious and concerned about the future of the contry, they have begun leaking info.

    • drkate

anything more you have on this would be great to share. Who is sharing the info?

But I’m suspicious of the dems orchestrating the 2008 collapse, the Feb 2009 collapse, etc, and the timing of Biden and Powell’s warning of a manufactured crisis on or around Jan 21st, or within 6 months of obama taking office?

      hmmm

      • saving face

drkate — One of the reasons the Democrats may have orchestrated this crisis is that in the bill it gives the Treasury Secy the power of the purse. Paulsen is in charge of distributing 700 Bill and so much has not been distributed. In fact even after the Republicans in the Senate blocked the bill for the Auto Industry bail out from coming to the floor — the Treasury Secy gave them the money anyway out of that 700 Billion Does this worry anyone else? It scares the hell out of me because he puts the power of the purse in the hands of the Executive Branch and it renders Congress mute.

        • http://Godhelpusall lee M

Go to “Amero Currency.com” and you will find many of the answers. In the left hand column there is a series of links that could explain what is behind this whole series of events.
There has been a push on for some time to have open borders with Mexico and Canada, with one currency for all three countries. This North American Union is based on the idea of the European Community and the Eurodollar.
This is the insidious move to create an international highway from Mexico through the U.S. into Canada.
Some very important people in the U.S. feel that American Sovereinty is passe. They no longer feel that our Constitution is important.
Scary isn’t the half of it, and when the Congress starts having secret sessions we had all better be very aware.

  • rolling_thunder

What would Fraudbama’s idol, JFK, say about all this censorship and scrubbing?
    :?:

The very word “secrecy” is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know.

    -John F. Kennedy

    • NoBamaNoWay

wow. could you imagine ANY politician saying that today? heck no; they’re all coming up with excuses to justify the secret government with unlimited powers that they all seem to want.

    • Kal

Yeah, except, remember, JFK had lots of generational skeletons in the closet plus his own secrets.

Not buyin’ this idol thing — they’ve always been a bunch of crooks, and the US has been too big and too decentralized to every smoke out the full story.

Not to be paranoid, but it could be that the much more direct and free flow of information on sites like this might be necessitating military rule and completely rewriting the constitution, laws, etc.

I.e., if liberal democracy might possibly actually start to work, better go back to the drawing board.

I dearly love this No Quarter site!

I find the articles to be thoughtful and in depth and the Blogers clever and with more than an ounce of Wit.

That being said, the reality is:

Neither Patrick Fitzgerald nor any other U.S Attorney is going to bring down the first Black man elected to the Presidency of these United States.

Rezko has turned Blago, Fitz has landed his “Big Fish” and they are going to move on.

At this time next year we will have over thirty percent unemployment.

    Think what that means!

No! I mean really, really think about what that means.

Four brigades have been detached from Third Armor and are being trained in “Domestic Violence Control”.

That sit in at the Chicago Factory a Week ago — Try about thirty of those a week in May and June with no happy ending.

The Stock Market has to shed about another 340 points to bottom at 5,200. That’s a lot of 401K misery.

We have bigger fish to fry than Tony and Hot Rod.

The election of 2008 is over and it is time to come about into the wind and trim our sails for there are rough seas and storms ahead.

Qbama may not have been your first, second or final choice, but he was elected by a majority to be the captain of our Ship Of State.

It’s time to follow Hillary’s example and for the good of the country put our shoulder to the wheel and try to get our cart out of the ditch.

That’s not to say you shouldn’t move forward with a Woman’s Conference at Seneca Falls this summer with a “Never Again” agenda to attack the problem of “sexism” that just peppered this 2008 election.

It is to say that the intellect and creative energy that is displayed on this “No Quarter” site is badly needed to get through the dark times that are upon us.

Qbama may not have been your first, second or final choice, but he was elected by a majority to be the captain of our Ship Of State.

Sorry, but it is not entirely about the popular vote. You have eligibility and hard core corruption. Not about who else ran.

At this perilous time in the history of what’s left of our Country we need Hillary not this fraud.

LOCK THE MAN UP AND THROW AWAY THE KEY ALREADY..

Better yet send him to Kenya or Indonesia or anywhere else the ‘Citizen of the World ” wants to go and make sure he takes Michelle with him.

We don’t need a RIC ever in this country now matter what color they would be.

We need a leader and he reinforces our doubts daily
that he doesn’t know the first thing about leading.

GGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZ !! Take the man away
      already.

And give me Hillary because I have confidence in her abilities to run this country and take it through major changes as painlessly as humanly possible.!!!

      • ThisIsNotATest

Bush won in 2000 because Al Gore allowed that idiot Donna Brazille to run his campaign. She only chose to count counties in FL that she considered Democratic strongholds, not all counties.

    • Mert

well that’s the problem,Obama was selected not elected. He’s not the legitimate President-elect

      • workingclass artist

This is one issue that potentially unites many Americans of either party and independents…Republicans can now empathize if they choose to with those of us that have suffered trough
electoral shenanigans since 2000…Grows more BLATANT every cycle…Still endangers the Constitution only now Foreign interests are added with money, POLICY influence and even perhaps a UNNATURALLY BORN or ILLEGITIMATE POTUS….

    • C.S.

Neither Patrick Fitzgerald nor any other U.S Attorney is going to bring down the first Black man elected to the Presidency of these United States.

First, you can’t bring down something that hasn’t happened yet. We should all watch our language when talking about the last two elections because Soertoro, aka, Obama is one of three men (that we know of) who will go down in history as not elected but selected. Gerald Ford was selected by Richard Nixon, George W. Bush was selected by the Supreme Court and the man known as Barry Soertoro was selected by the Democratic party.

As to the authenticity of his being the first “black” that is very debatable since he is Kenyan (claimed as a citizen by birth by Kenyans) and melting pot white on his mother’s side. There are numerous genealogy sites that have traced the ancestry of Ann Dunham’s child known as Barry Obama that fill you in on the Arab background of the Kenyan tribe Mr. Obama is a member of. Like everything in his life; especially those fictional biographies, he created an image to appeal to those who would never have accepted his real life. It was all about myth making; not becoming a Servant of We the People and Our Democracy. He actually thinks, like GWB, that Our president is autonomous, not subject to Our Constitution because he thinks he has the right to determine who the Governor of Illinois appoints Senator even after he has moved on.

      • lark

I disagree with both of your proposition and agree with the quote. But Obama himself will render himself an absolute zero by alienating the Dem party away from him through his conduct of neutering his credibility on every single issue. By 2012 he will run as an Independent and will have the credibility of Cynthia McKenney. Maybe both of them will make a great ticket together.

  • kgirl1028

Jesse Jackson Jr. needs to buy a clue. The average obama supporter is willing to hang his and Rhoms behind out to dry, if they know what’s good for them they’s flip on obama instead of help trying to cover it up for him.

    • lark

That is true but very hard to do at this time when Obanana still have the support of the MSM defending him as if they are on his payroll.

      • Ferd Berfle

Actually, I think it is That One who is on the payroll as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the telecoms and General Electric. He isn’t so much pulling the strings as he is being pulled by them.

Here a source for the “secret meeting” in Congress to discuss the imminent martial law. This happened March 13th of 2008. WHY? Congress is expecting the imminent collapse of the U.S. economy sometime in late 2008 and Feb 2009 with the possibility of “Civil War” in the United States due to the economic collapse. Possibly the most disturbing, “The advance round up of insurgent U.S. citizens that are likely to move against the U.S. Government.”
    http://polidics.com/ethics/congress-addresses-the-eminent-marshal-law-plan-in-private.html

Just some hint of where the economy is going.

      Rolling Thunder,
I haven’t posted for a few days as I’ve been in mourning.
As a manufacturer of essential packaging products for a thousand companies I see the nuclear winter come upon us. These companies simply have stopped. Like the world economy just turned the switch off.
Sales in every company I deal with including mine are down 30-50% or more depending on the industry.
You can correlate the downturn in the markets to the exact point when it seemed that Obama could win. Obama is bad for business. The fact that he has shown that he is a centrist for now with his selections doesn’t repair the damage of the collapse.
For the first time since 911 I’m actually scared of what’s coming next.

At the end of September my husband and I were on the water in a sailboat on the Straights of Juan de Fuca — we did not see any large freighter traffic coming in from the Pacific Ocean and heading to Seattle. NOT ONE SINGLE CONTAINER SHIP.

We saw several huge sea going ships heading up to Canada. Generally we would have seen several ships along this major shipping route.

Seattle Moss’s news is also major — and he’s been telling us this for some time.

This is MAJOR — for Seattle Moss to see such a drastic decline in orders.

Could it be that Obama and the Dems have been set up? The Government (bush gang in charge at the moment) would see the trends — certain industries are Canaries in the mines.

Obama was given UNLIMITED funding to make his run — and he is the most unqualified candidate EVER in the history of the USA to run for this office. He is probably the most corrupt — I mean down right rotten to the core — or anyone to run.

The media pretends not to notice — WHY?

Obama continually lies — he lies when there is no good reason TO lie.

Gee — anyone feel a need to go on a long trip overseas????

Passports — do you have your passports?

Thank you Seattle Moss for keeping us posted. I wish there was something I could do — Small business is what runs America — and if her small business machine is ill — we are in a hell of a fiddle of a mess.

        • Seattle Moss

          Thank you NW Rain,
That must have been a wonderful sailboat ride. The calm before the storm!
These southern state republicans have shown their true colors. Bankrupt the US auto industry so that the foreign cars they make in their states can benefit
What these scum senators don’t tell you is that foreign car production is down the same amount as everyone else. A few short years from now the Japanese car comapnies will also be bankrupt
We are seeing business cease in the world. The ability to make money with money is over
So these senators want to make the auto companies the scapegoats and punish millions of workers ..Despicable traitors

The US auto industry needs to be looked at the same as the space program.

No matter what the business model. Right now everyone is failing.
For the first time in my career..
          I can’t see the future

          • wodiej

the automakers and the workers are partially to blame for their own demise. Demanding excessive wages and benefits through their union. The exec’s and their bonuses and pay. And the continual making of huge, gas sucking, overpriced vehicles. There is plenty of blame to go around.

        • Seattle Moss

          NW..

Could it be that Obama and the Dems have been set up? The Government (bush gang in charge at the moment) would see the trends — certain industries are Canaries in the mines.

I have a very wise friend who said the same thing. He mentioned that it was a democrat year and the country was going down. Why not have the weakest leader of all who after ruining it for 4 years the republicans will be back in force.
I always thought of McCain as the happy warrior knowing that he was being sacrificed this year.

          • http://ezinearticles.com/?Three-Basic-Parenting-Styles&id=744499 Northwest rain

I slowly downloaded a YouTube video of McCain and Letterman — I wanted to see how McCain is in the aftermath of loosing the election.

In a way he seemed relieved. He has a great sense of humor. The link for the clip is at Tennessee Guerrilla women.

About the auto industry — I agree with Wes Clark — that America does need vehicle manufacturing ability IN THE US. It is a matter of National Security.

What I’m suggesting is that the three car companies be merged. The employees need to be taken care of — fairly.

Right now the bad guys are in charge and they will be handing off their control to the next set of bad guys.

Obama is in so far over his head that he has no idea which way is up — because there is NO light where he is. All he’s used to is playing the Chicago political scene — and making money for himself — he never seemed to be looking out for the interest of his constituents. Now he is not going to suddenly change and be thinking of the individual welfare of ALL Americans — we are NOT his constituency. He only owes the people who paid his way to the White House — he doesn’t give a damn about anyone else.

Many of us have seen this economic crisis come for years — Obama apparently never had a clue. All he can do is read words written by an immature thug — and Obama reads without any comprehension of WHAT he is reading.

            —–

Bottom line — we are screwed big time.

            • Seattle Moss

              NW..
The reality is that all companies big and small will have to learn to work with a 30% reduction in sales. My company is already making adjustments so we might be OK.
Real Estate will fall another 20% as well as the markets. The ability to make money with assets like real estate is over for now along with the economy as we know it.

The future for America is companies like mine that make something that is needed. The problem is can we survive long enough to see that happen.

      • babamoo

I’m not sure how old you are SM, but I remember, as a kid, going through many a recession, both of my parents out of work, manufacturing and construction stopped, the first energy crisis drastically changing the American way of life, waiting in gas lines, going with reduced heat, and the like.

We had recession in the 70′s, 80′s and even early 90′s, under Bush one. white collar workers, affected, too.

        People survived, and will again.

The roots of this current crisis are in part planted in the corruption which is now manifesting, I wonder if the same is true for prior recessions, also.

Restructuring health care alone would give the economy a needed boost.

Lots of solutions, unfortunately, a lot of VERY STUPID PEOPLE in charge, at the moment, WHOLLY unqualifed.

trend prophets see the very real potential for civil war along classic Red State v. Blue State lines due to economic meltdown and agricultural dependence of the Larger Urban areas on resources from the Lower 1/2….Hmmmmm….2010 – 2012 seems to be the years mentioned as peak anti-federal sentiment and resources drain conflicts….Hmmmm….Certainly makes you ponder and maybe hoard your rice…chuckle…

OT, but would like to know if a “black Monday” is expect due to Madoff scheme. Seems huge in terms of it impacting entities worldwide, cannot be good.

    • Seattle Moss

      RW..
What is not realized at the moment is that there is probably a hundred Madoff’s ready to collapse.

      • William L. Donlon

Madoff is a “Ponzi Scheme” it has nothing to do with the Market per say.

There is a sharp down turn in Hedge funds that is going to follow the down turn of the market but that has nothing to do with Madoff.

What has happened so far has been predicted for those willing to listen.

        It’s not about “what happened”.

It’s about whats going to happen.

We are facing the biggest crisis since the Civil War.

When we come out of it we will not look like the Country we are today.

We may actually break apart over our differences.

Civil unrest will grow with the Governments inability to provide the Basics like Food and Fuel for Cars and Home heating.

Regional and State interests can be seen clashing in the Auto Bailout, this will grow.

The whole 50 state concept is outdated and needs to be reorganized.

Bodh– Wash should be one state.

Albany to Chicago should be another, with Great lakes economies.

Same total territory but just 35 or so states.

Seventy elected Senators on the Two for each state and thirty elected Regionally.

We are in for very sweeping changes that Obama hasn’t even dreamed of.

Lincoln, when he took office in March of 1861 had no idea of the sweeping changes that woul take place by the end of the decade.

We are entering just such a time.

        • William L. Donlon

Sorry it’s BosWash as in Boston to Washington as one single state.

they have much more in common with each othe as a Megalopolis state than they do with Rochester and Buffalo.

Rochester and Buffalo have much more in Common with Cleveland and Chicago than they do with NYC.

          It should be one state.

The Southerntier of N.Y. and the Notherntier Of Penn. could form another State with common economies.

It’s time to rethink and revamp.

        • Seattle Moss

I believe there are a hundred Ponzi schemes just like Madoff. Some are more like Enron but all relied on markets and real estate always going up which has now pulled the rug out from their schemes.
The final consequences of 911 are upon us. I always knew that we were heading for depression

The final consequences of 911 are upon us. I always knew that we were heading for depression

Mainly because the politicians of this decade did their damnedest to appear to be actually doing something with all their empty anti-terrorist claptrap while the real problems were intentionally allowed to fester untended.

Everything that everyone is saying is true or has a very high probability of happening. In top of that our Constitution seems to be unraveling. Why? It was build upon ‘honor’ and now absent of ‘honor’ everywhere it seems it is wanting at every turn. It seems today a Constitution needs to be based on detailed processes like with computer programs, detailed list of facts or acts and not on presumptions of honorability.

I don’t know what’s going to happen but nothing good seems in the horizon.

Palin and McCain allowing Palin to rise was my prescription but now no one wants an honorable person to lead the country. Hillary punted.

          • lark

Biden punted. Richardson too. Dodd too. All Dems punted to Obama fearful of his charisma as a liar. I don’t know how we are going to survive. My only hope is Wal-Mart.

The senators that voted against the bailout are not trying to put the auto companies out of business. They are just trying to keep the taxpayer who had nothing to do with there demise from having to pay to keep them in business. My business is stopped [ residential construction 30 years ] but I’m small enough to fail I guess. Multiply me x ? and you come up with a COUNTRY that needs to be bailed out. Start the presses.
