One Paragraph, Four Obama Statements, Two Equivocations, One Lie, One False Promise [Updated]

Barack Obama on Thursday stated the following:

“I have never spoken to the governor on this subject. I am confident that no representatives of mine would have any part of any deals related to this seat. I think the materials released by the U.S. attorney reflect that fact,” Obama said at a Chicago news conference. “I’ve asked my team to gather the facts of any contacts with the governor’s office about this vacancy so that we can share them with you over the next few days.”

But on Friday we learned the following:

Emanuel, who has long been close to both Blagojevich and Obama, has refused to respond to questions about any involvement he may have had with the Blagojevich camp over the Senate pick. A spokeswoman for Emanuel also declined to comment Friday.

One source confirmed that communications between Emanuel and the Blagojevich administration were captured on court-approved wiretaps.

Another source said that contact between the Obama camp and the governor’s administration regarding the Senate seat began the Saturday before the Nov. 4 election, when Emanuel made a call to the cell phone of Harris. The conversation took place around the same time press reports surfaced about Emanuel being approached about taking the high-level White House post should Obama win.

Emanuel delivered a list of candidates who would be “acceptable” to Obama, the source said. On the list were Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, Illinois Veterans Affairs director Tammy Duckworth, state Comptroller Dan Hynes and U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Chicago, the source said. All are Democrats.

Where do we begin with Obama’s statement on Thursday?

“I am confident that no representatives of mine would have any part of any deals related to this seat.”

I am confident you phrased this statement in the manner you did, for you knew Emanuel was in contact with Blagojevich through his Chief of Staff and through other advisors and operatives. I am also confident that Emanuel is avoiding reporters, for Emanuel knows his voice is recorded on wiretaps gathered by Fitzgerald and his investigators. It is time for Emanuel to resign and to vacate his House seat. And by the way, is not former Daley operative Valerie Jarrett Co-Chair of your Transition Team? Why was the Co-Chair of your Transition Team in contact with Tom Balanoff, the SEIU Representative, who according to page 69 of the criminal complaint filed by Special Agent of the FBI David Cain “stated that he would find out if Senate Candidate 1 [Valerie Jarrett] wanted SEIU Official to keep pushing her for Senator with ROD BLAGOJEVICH.” Maybe it is time you answer questions about Valerie Jarrett’s contact with Blagojevich and his operatives.

“I have never spoken to the governor on this subject.”

You claim you did not speak to the Governor, but Emanuel submitted a letter with a list of candidates you preferred to Blagojevich. In other words, you communicated with the Governor about the open Senate seat. Moreover, news reports you and your operatives have attempted to remove from the Internet reveal you met with the Governor the week following the Presidential election. You met with him, and you sent him letters. This website contains two screen shots and a press release from Blagojevich’s office documenting that meeting. I recommend you read them and explain their existence to the media during your next press conference. Thank you for your prompt and anticipated cooperation.

Perhaps you need to think again, for the criminal complaint filed by Special Agent of the FBI David Cain reveals that a line of communication existed between your team and that of Blagojevich. We also know that members of your team, including Emanuel, were engaged in conversation with members of Blagojevich’s team about the open Senate seat and the possibility of positions for Blagojevich since November 4, 2008. Maybe you need to read and reread the criminal complaint until its full import and significance is understood. And besides, no one cares what you “think;” we care about what is known.

“I’ve asked my team to gather the facts of any contacts with the governor’s office about this vacancy so that we can share them with you over the next few days.”

Ask your staff again. Obviously they are incapable of compiling information, for it is Sunday, and no documents have been made available to the public. Do you have any intention of sharing any and all communications between your staff and that of Rod Blagojevich? And while your seemingly inept, incompetent and corrupt staff compiles these records for the perusal of the traditional media and writers online, I recommend you ask them to create a dossier on your dealings with Rezko. This staff, after all, is housed in the Kluczynksi Federal Building on Dearborn Street in Chicago. Access to records from your days as a state Senator of an inner city Chicago state Senate district should not be difficult for a group of overpaid operatives in your Transition offices to obtain. I imagine they are not very bright, but if they refrain from engaging in drunken gang rape simulations with your speechwriter Jon Favreau, the lazy and inept lot will probably have the energy and focus to locate and compile these documents in a timely manner.

    I haven’t taken Obama seriously since February or March 2008. I saw him for what he was and there was no going back. I have been flabbergasted that anyone has taken this guy seriously and that he was elected POTUS. I certainly hope that with this scandal people pause and start to open their eyes. The flood gates open and there is no unseeing. Once you see the truth, you can’t go back to lalaponyland.

        Looky what I just read:

        Patrick Fitzgerald seems to indicate that Obama’s Team approached Blaogjevich!

        Below is a section from the transcript of Fitzgerald speaking at the Press Conference. After he details the Valerie Jarrett/Obama portion of the scheming, Fitzgerald goes on to say this about Jesse Jackson Jr. approaching Blagojevich with another deal:

        SOMEBODY ELSE APPROACHED THE GOVERNOR??

        Unless there were yet another set of people that were trying to make deals, it sounds like the Obama people CAME TO BLAGOJEVICH with this plan as did Jesse Jackson Jr. I knew it, I knew it!!!

        There is a reference to Blago cooking up the three way deal portion, but Fitz is pretty specific that he was negotiating only a part of the various deals set forth: “At one point, he proposed a three-way deal, that a cushy union job would be given to him at a higher rate of pay, where he could make money. In exchange, he thought that the union might get benefits from the president-elect. And therefore the president-elect might get the candidate of his choice.”

        It’s not a matter of what did Obama know and when did he know it. It’s a matter of what did Blagojevich know and when did HE know it.

      As an aside, someone responding to John Kass’ column, today, stated MO might have been given the job at the U of Chicago hospital, in part, to help grease the buying and selling of land around the university, partly in preparation for the 2016 Olympics.

      Which could lead back to Rezko, (he funneled a lot of his real estate work to Patti Blagojevitch, also — didn’t she help on the Obama house?)

Blago telling people connected with Daley “fuck Obama’s choices for just an appreciation of thanks” was Blago’s nail in the coffin for him politically.
          Anyone thinking this isn’t about the big bucks of the Olympics not for Chicago, but for those in the Chicago Combine are fools. Everyone on Obama’s commitee for election to POTUS has millions to gain from the Games being in Chicago, most funded by the Feds.
          Will the MSM ever report on this, NEVER! Why because the MSM has millions upon millions at stake for their pockets if the Games are in Chicago, whereas if they are anyplace elese, their profits from the Games is reduced by 60%.

          Oh one more note, the Loop area that Rezko and Auchi own is a stones throw from the proposed venue areas for the 2016 Games. That makes the land they have to develope worth far more than it is without the Games in Chicago.

    I feel like screaming every time some MSM journalist or elected official gets on the TV and says Obama did nothing wrong. He flat out lied to the American people and even some of his most ardent supporters and media-types defending him know he did, so why do they cover up the cover up? It’s really hysterical that several days have passed and we don’t have those “records” yet – imagine if it had been Bush or any Republican who offered to provide proof, but did not do so. Can anyone tell me if any of the usual Obama team made the news show rounds this weekend, or all they all hiding out like Rahm?

            The significance is not the grammar. The significance is what has occurred, so I think it is you who fails to get the significance. You are using Ad Hominem to attack the person rather than discuss the actual premise. Just because someones grammar is incorrect doesn’t distract away from the argument.

      Yes, you do. But first you must make a list of all the horrible things the Obama websites have said about the two women candidates that aren’t true; only them because I don’t think there is enough space to list all of the lies Obama’s political machine told about all the candidates!

      Obama isn’t omniscient, he doesn’t walk on water and when he willingly waded into the cesspool of Chicago politics he knew he was getting slimed, but like Blagojevic, the money and power was just too good.

      The Obama persona isn’t even a president elect yet and there are still 20 court cases to be settled so why would he think he had the power to give the Governor a list of who to appoint to the senate seat he resign from? Democracies don’t work that way. But then if we had followed the principles of our Constitution and held an honest election, Soertoro, aka Obama, wouldn’t be in a position to throw his weight around either!

      And ironically, it took this investigation to point out that Mr. Soertoro ran his election campaign along the same lines as the Chicago political machine. No wonder We the People weren’t prepared to wage war against the Obama machine whose goal wasn’t to defeat opponents but to annihilate them.

        The scrubbing of their articles about the NOV 5 meeting between BOBO and Blagojvich to talk about the senate seat is the single most disturbing thing going on in connection with the investigation. For all the times people have brought up George Orwell during the bush administration I always argued that they were more animal farm then they were 1984. But the scrubbing of the media has me thinking the other way now in regards to BOBO and America’s media as a whole.

    I’ll put it this way, in every society you have sane people who can talk to each other and come to an agreement, even though some may disagree. Then you have the nuts. And it doesn’t matter if they are right wing nuts or left wing nuts- they’re all nuts.

    The best thing for any political movement is to purge or marginalize the nuts. But we can not and should not atrribute the characteristics of the nuts to the whole movement.

          Unlike the gay issue, the violence was not perpetuated by the victims who lacked civil rights. Just as with the civil rights movement of which I was intricately involved, it was the “VIOLENCE ITSELF’ that caused the backlash from the country for the good of the movement. We were taught to refrain from violence. MLK taught us that violence begats violence.

    With that in mind, it is possible that the puppet strings are being jerked out of Obama’s initial controller’s hands by the Clintonistas. To support that assertion there is a drumbeat of criticism of the incoming Obama Administration coming from the George Soros-funded stable of groups which backed Obama in the campaign, but are now turning against him as his Cabinet is picked.

    For example, Progressive Democrats of America head Tim Carpenter was quoted in Politico: “He [Obama] has confirmed what our suspicions were, by surrounding himself with a centrist-to-right-wing cabinet.” And the head of Campaign for America’s Future, Roger Hickey, said, “There’s a concern that he keep his basic promises–and people are going to watch him.”

    These and others follow loud complaints against Obama’s shaping of his administration, by top Soros asset Mark Leonard, head of the European Council on Foreign Relations, which billionaire speculator Soros funds.

    I am not suggesting that the birth certificate issue, among others are not valid, but if there is a successful operation to jerk the strings out of the hands of Obama’s controllers I am hesitant about disrupting that operation.

    Everyone on this and other sites have consistently, in the near past, stated that Obama is a “puppet”. Now, as I read this blog, it is as if everyone thinks Obama is the brains of the operation. My suggestion is that you reread your Plato. The world and everything it is dynamic. What “is” today is not exactly that way tomorrow or the day after.

    This Illinois business could be a shot across his bow by the Soros and fellow travelers. If that fails I believe they are capable of more drastic measures.

    We will be able to determine if the Clintonistas are co-opting the Obama administration when Soros and friends controlled Democrats oppose confirmation of some of Obama Cabinet choices in the Senate. I suggest we watch for that.

    Ultimately Obama is not the issue here, the policies to be implemented in this time of crises for the survival of our republic is the issue. We don’t seem, as citizens, to be able to define a direction to accomplish that goal. For example, we correctly demand that Detroit reorganize under bankruptcy to continue to exist and get 15 to 30 billion dollars. Yet, we handed Wall Street banks 700 billion plus dollars with no such demand when they are the ones the generated the bubble! What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

    The fact is we are not going to de-leverage a bubble inflated 30 times over. It ain’t possible. Declaring those bogus “obligations” void in bankruptcy is the only option. After that, massive amounts of new credit directed at physical production and infrastructure is the only course to a revived economy.

    I dont think anyone felt that it would have been bad if Obama had had some input about his Senate replacement. Noboby would have faulted Obama or his team for having talked to the Governor as long as he was not using any type of bibes to get the man he wanted in.
    What I do fault Obama with is that Obama is LYING AGAIN. Its a getting to even be a known type pattern with him. It seems that Obama’s story changes as the proof comes out. Obama only starts admitting to whatever truth Obama feels there is documentation on.
    Obama didnt know about Wright’s sermons until documentation proved he did. As more and more documentation came forward Obama’s story about Wright changed.
    Obama said he had no help at all from Rizo for his house until documentation proved differently. As more and more documentation came forward Obama’s story about Rizo changed.

    When the story first broke Obama said he had NO communication with the governor at all until documentation started proving a different story. For $12 he could prove himself, but instead he’s spent over $10 million dollars trying to get around it.

    Unlawful occupation of the Office of the President means no new valid legislation. No valid nominations, including to the Supreme Court. No valid Executive Orders. No lawful commands as Commander in Chief. Such a situation paralyzes legitimate government.

    I am not sure what you are trying to argue with this post, as your post does not make much sense. Lets review the statements as you do.

    This statement appears to be correct. Just because Obama’s people talked to the governor about the seat does not mean they were involved in any “deals”. In fact, the prosecutor said there is no evidence that Obama has made a deal with the governor. Obama did the right thing and cut no deals. Obama is talking about “deals” not whether his people talked to the governor, which he has admitted, by saying he will release documentation that his people have talked to the governor. He is talking about “deals”. Duhhh!!

    This statement could be correct. Obama may very well have not talked to the governor about any “deal making”, which was the subject. He may not have talked to the governor at all about the seat. Obama has more things to worry about and it makes sense that he lets his people handle it.

What they shouldn’t be doing is “deal-making” that personally benefits BO. Which they did not!
