You know, Choo Choo, I hate saying bad things about Chicago. I have been there many times and from a visitor’s point of view it is just lovely and a lot of fun. Best delis in the world and many fascinating things to do and look at.

It has always been hard to believe what lies below the visitor’s view.

How true….way back when he first starting to go for the presidency he remarked that he didn’t need experience in any of the presidential duties as he’d surround himself with specialists in all areas. To me that shows his transparency….when he has to make a apeech or answer a question, he just hedges around a response with all of his verbocity. So it will be ineresting to see how all of the people in his cabinet will be his “specialist.” I just can’t believe he’s not appointed Wes Clark to any cabinet post….personally, I supported Clark for POTUS in ’03-’04 and was ready to go this year. Damn shame to waste great people.

Hey Pat -

I’m so enjoying your cartoons about my place of birth. Chicago was built on marshland, so it is fitting for the beautiful Chicago skyline to be engulfed by algea/slime in your last cartoon. I immediately started looking for “the creature from the black lagoon”.

On this cartoon – I’m loving your choice of brick for the Opaque Obama. It some how seems so fitting since he built his political career with traditional Chicago style corrupt associates, mortared them with fast hardening corrupt deeds and then grows a little creeping money vine to give everything an ivy league veneer.

Ok, Blag made many deals for personal reward.
He has a VERY LONG list of what the deals were, and who benefited. This will be traded for a reduced sentence and letting his wife off the hook (no jail time, but pleads guilty and gets probation for her “commissions” from Rezko and many others.

Now, the real question is Emil Jones, DA MAYOR, and Obama. What does Blag have on them? Remember, this is CHICAGO. I’d be very careful crossing the street.

Let’s give Obama a break and let this play out. We are in the deepest trouble as a Nation in our whole history, and are vulnerable to any further disruptions from afar.

Actually, it is impossible for our government to be transparent. There’s no way to balance our interests with foreign governments if all can see what is our REAL position. I don’t think it can be done.

You are way too hard on us. We would have loved an experienced candidate--namely Hillary Clinton who was the best of the bunch. I am a lifelong Democrat. It is also too bad that very bright leaders have a hard time being nominated--for example, (Democrat) Wes Clark. He would be a great Predsident. Also, we shall see about the transparency. It would be so easy to just state what happened. You don't have to be President to explain yourself!

As usual the posters on this site has no idea what they are talking about.

Obama is not yet President, so it is a bit harsh that you are saying that the Obama adminstration is not transparent.

The fact, that Obama has said that he will release all communications between his people and the Governor of Illinois, which is pretty damn transparent, particularly given what the Bush Adminstration has done for the last 8 years. The Bush Adminstration would have simply claimed executive privledge, if they were in the same situation. And by Obama saying that he would release all communications between his people and the governor, he is also saying that there was communicationm, which is natural and should not be a surprise. Obama has more than done everything right regarding the governor of Illinois. He cut no deals and is fully cooperating with the prosecuters.

I get that you people on this website will never accept a Democrat presidential candidate or will never accept Obama, as for whatever reason you think he is more illegitmate than any of the presidents that came before, but at least let your arguments make some sense.

Not at all accurate. Fitz just confirmed that HE requested the delay due to his wrapping up his investigation. Yesterday he was the best thing since sliced bread… It’s Monday, so I suppose HE’S now in Obama’s pocket? LOL.

Very clever cartoon that says it all very neatly!
Re contacts with the Gov, I guess we’ll have to see if there is a hidden trail leading to Obama. Seems like one of his staff had some contact with the Gov related to his Senate seat, but it is not clear if there was an offer to sell the seat. Hopefully, it will all come out in the wash. Coverups are not well-tolerated, as I am sure Obama is aware. I imagine there is intense grilling of staff member going on both within and outside the Obama camp. Perhaps transparency will return when the truth comes out. Better late than to give false information. And better late than never? To be sure.
