That’s Karli on the left, and that’s Patton on the right.

karli-patton

Karli is a two-year-old “rescue” Rottweiler. Now if that isn’t the luckiest dog today! She’s now got Larry and his lovely family plus her new best buddy Patton!

Isn’t she a beauty?!?!?!?

And don’t forget to send us your photos of your critters. I’m BEHIND on getting some of yours up. Yeah, I know you’re sick of hearing about it and I’m sick of talking about it, but my Inbox. Oh god.

KARLI! WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY! I just wish I could give you a hearty hug!

    Oh, what a sweetie!!!

Funny that you should name her “Karli” because my post today was about a dog named Karley that wasn’t as lucky as your Karli…I”ll be looking forward to hearing much more about Karlie and Patton!!!!

Please read her story here. It’s just so outrageous and is an example of….well, you’ll get the whole picture as you read through the other examples and what happens with “the law.”

Karli is one happy puppy girl!

Congratulations Larry and and family! Patton looks a little pensive but protective. It’s his job to look after Karli!

  • AF catfish

She looks like a happy one!

Crap that’s my NY Resolution – get a pet (two pets, so they can entertain each other.)

  • AF catfish

Patton sure looks like he was aptly named LOL!

  • EWard

Karlie is a cutie and rescue dogs are great. Our family adopted a Welsh Terrier through the same process in 1999. She’s a great dog.

Congrats Larry, Karli and Family – Thanks for sharing the good news………….

  • http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/ Not your Sweetie

Congratulations! We too adopted a rescued dog a month ago – sleeping at my feet now. She certainly fills our home with joy!(and gets me outdoors, walking fast – which I had not done in years)

  • Judy L. NC

Heartiest congratulations to Karli and Larry!

  • Northwest rain

What two different personalities — I can tell which one is Patton (right). Patton seems so serious.

“O.K., sire you want me to teach the kid the ropes around here? Yes, sir!”

  • gracie

What a beautiful couple. It was meant to be.

  • JudyfromMO

What a nice family and Karli looks soooo happy to be there. Patton is doing his job of looking after her.
My partner and I are the proud parents of 8 rescue kitties and 2 others we foolishly bought. The oldest is 16 in March, the youngest are 6 in April. The 4 youngest came to us when their mom brought them to our shed. So that was 5 all at once. Living in the country means cats just show up and we try to take care of them all. We have one rescue dog(Heinz 57) and one Australian Shepard given by a former friend.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all the people at No Quarter- you helped me so much get through the last year or so.

I love rottweilers! I have a lab rott mix. We call her a rotten lab. She is pretty funny, hyper like a lab puppy but solid. She always tries to sit on your lap which is impossible because she won’t fit.

  • Judy

I have 3 rescue dogs, and they are a blessing.

I thank each and every Larry in the world who gives a dog a home they so deserve.

Oh, she is a love! Congratulations, Larry, on adding this beautiful girl to the family! And GOOD for you and your family for adopting a rescue!!

  • http://insightanalytical.wordpress.com InsightAnalytical-GRL

Do Karli and Patton sleep together?? Or do they sleep in bed with you???? LOL!!

I alternate my three on the bed with me! Otherwise, they’d all be there and I wouldn’t have a place to sleep (it’s only a twin bed, so it does get crowded!!)

  • karen for Clinton (told you so)

Karli reminds me so much of my shep-dobie-rotti mixed pals. A brother and sister who had the same loving eyes, size, color and floppy ears. They had a big bushy shep tail and winter coat but otherwise they were rotti shape with the eye brows etc.

Intellect and heart, swift and loyal.

Best to you and yours and the doggies too.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

  • workingclass artist

What a sweet face on her…A Fine Looking pair of K9′s.
    Congratulations!

  • I’m a Linda too

AUUUUHHHHH!!! That’s GREAT. Karli looks SOOOOOO HAPPY. Congrats to the expanded family. May you share much love and happiness.

  • Phillymiss

    Cute.

I am trying to adopt a cat through Siamese Rescue, but they are very picky — wish me luck!

  • H.D. Rider

Most pleased to see this…Larry Johnson, your stock just went through the roof with me even though I’ve been a daily visitor/fan to your site for many months. I presently have two rescue pets in residence…my daughter has three. Many others have found a home with us over the years.

Happiest of Holidays to all of you!

  • Scranton4Hillary

What a lucky pup she is! To be rescued for Christmas…it just doesn’t get much better than that.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

  • Phillymiss

I’ve heard that Rotweilers are mean.

They certainly don’t look too friendly.

  • scorbs

Karli looks happy as a clam and Patton looks like he knows how to follow “orders.” So I wouldn’t worry about rottweiler lore. They look like a great complement to any family.

  • stodgie

three cats in this family. i also feed two outdoor kitties. my sister just took a rescue dog into her home. the dog loves her and follows her everywhere she goes. sometimes one has to be patient as it takes time to build trust. they have found often that trust can be misplaced.

  • Flineo

Merry Xmas Larry, Susan and NQsters

  • Strawberrybitch

That’s so great Larry. Rescue dogs make the best, most loving and loyal friends. They seem to be able to understand that you saved them from certain doom and are forever grateful. My guys were rescue dogs as well. Balderick was only six months old when I found him at the shelter, he had been used as a training tool for other Mastiffs for fighting. His neck was chewed to bits and he had golfball sized abscesses all over his body from untreated bites. The smell coming off him was the rotting flesh we had to clean out for weeks. He was scrawney and shy and had the spirit beaten out of him. He still cringes when someone in the house yells. But now at two, he’s 120 pounds of loving, bouncing fur. What’s really great is to see him jump on my husband (who’s no slouch at 220 pounds)and knock him over when he thinks hubby is getting a little too affectionate. Both Balderick and Wellington are incredibly patient and gentle with our autistic son who does tend to get a little rough at times. And they stand gaurd just a few feet away when the boys play outside. God help anyone who tries to lay a finger on those kids.

    Patton looks pissed!

  • TeakwoodKite

    Odd thing to say.

  • TeakwoodKite

I wonder if Patton will teach Karli the squirrel game?

    Best wishes to all.

  • Sometime-CIA-Defender

    Pretty puppy! Congrats.

  • http://noquarter foxyladi14

merry christmas, larry and susan, and your lovely family

  • NoBamaNoWay

is it just me, or do Patton and Larry look a little bit alike?

  • Tricia Spiegel

    Karli IS a lucky dog!

We have a rescue dog also. They are the best. They seem to know that you have gived them a new life, and they appreciate it. Our dog’s tail wags just by looking at him.
