To sooth the soul through music while I am out of town. Hope everyone is safe and sound!

And to stay with the Celtic theme, there is this from “Celtic Woman,” a piece entitled, “The Voice,” performed by Lisa Kelly:

And here’s a bonus. “Celtic Woman” singer, Orla Fallon, performing a piece BY Clannad! But, in this you get to see the drummers, which is a total plus, in my book anyway:

There is just something about Celtic music that really gets to me, it’s haunting melodies, the totally primeval feel of the drumming, and the beauty of the voices…It feeds my soul, and I hope it does yours, as well…

I am impressed by the Clannad pic, the four figures standing still in the cold barren landscape like rocks arranged at Stonehenge, beautiful Moya Brennan (or is that her sister Enya?) somber in her hooded cloak: fitting imagery for these short & chilling, blessed days of early winter.

How about “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth”? LOL!
I broke a tooth the weekend after Thanksgiving, so I get a crown tomorrow.
My Christmas package from my daughter was last seen going through Philadelphia…no wonder Palin plugged Rudolph…he is senile! LOL!
Seriously though, music is my last refuge in a hostile world, and it always lifts me!

I love, love, love Celtic music…it speaks to my soul as well. My forebears hail from Ireland/Scotland and I guess those rhythms are in my blood.

If you didn’t get to see her 2+ hour performance (with an extraordinary band)at the Alhambra on PBS a couple of years ago, you can now get the DVD (Netflix has it too)…this is one of the most amazing performances I have seen.
