A New Year’s Toast to Our Readers
By Pat Racimora on December 31, 2008 at 8:00 PM in Current Affairs

We at No Quarter would like to wish our readers a year filled with laughter, joy, and good health even though we face serious domestic and global challenges in the coming year. We will do our best to cover them honestly and rapidly. We will always tell it like it is, including the good news.
Our collective resolution for the coming year is to continue in the practice of No Quarter, to delve deeper into current issues and to go beyond what the mainstream media reports and to expose what they choose to ignore. In short, we will strive to live up to the No Quarter name.
No Quarter. What does that mean?
It is a military saying from, “Give the enemy no quarter.” Or, stated another way, “Take no prisoners.”
We watch for those stories that expose “the enemy,” be they those that threaten us from beyond our shores or those that violate of the public trust or offend human dignity here at home. We will be paying extra attention to foreign policy this year.
If it’s broken, we will scream that it needs fixing. Sometimes we just like to tell a story that needs telling, or bring a smile in tough times, or offer a fresh perspective to issues we care about. We want to give our readers something to think about, and we love the open and honest debates that happen in the comment sections (and sometimes even among ourselves).
So, off we go into 2009! We offer a toast to you, our readers! Try to find some joy in every day. And please continue to share your ideas with us here at No Quarter.
We wish you a heartfelt thank you for your continued and dedicated support this past year.
