Sean Penn’s Blame America Cruise

This vid was passed on to me. I enjoyed it and thought that some NQ readers might enjoy it too.

BTW Have you ever seen Sean Penn in an interview? If so, have you ever come across anyone who gives a more boring, humorless interview? i find it hard to think of anyone even coming close.

That said, I hear his portrayal of Harvey Milk in the movie “Milk” is terrific, so I guess he can’t be all bad. But I get so tired of these Hollywood pseudo-liberals and their political associates pontificating and running down America.

Sean Penn need to visit some special doctor, and to have check His metntal stability. Someone who is supporting ;Castro, President of Venezuela is not normal but is RADICAL even worst then them. Penn’s propaganda about people like above, is dengerous and dispicable. Sean Penn is a sick idividual.Normal but sick!

    Hmmmm…Sean Penn being political…Oh Brother!

i was at christmas dinner and one of my sisters wanted to see frost/nixon. i said no please go if you want but without me. i have no problem seeing a good movie about politics, but the actor who played nixon struck me as over the top. i have read he is an excellent actor but perhaps not in this movie(my opinion). the other movie, NIXON, i think was perhaps much better. i think penn is an excellent actor, but i have no desire to see his new movie. i will change my mind if i read this movie holds to reality and what really happened. hollywood today just can’t get it right. they think tits, bombs, and guns sells and real acting is not needed. penn again is an exception.

i once like moore’s work but like so many they become convinced that one side is great/wonderful and the other side is dark with no redemption. of course that is absolute bull. there are two sides most often and none of us are perfect.

I see the humor here except for one person. Harry Belafonte. He put his career and life on the line during the Civil Rights movement and since.

To equate Belafonte,a man who has fought for the rights of others for over 40 years, with Sean Penn is offensive to me.

    • stodgie

candymarl i agree with you about beafonte. but sometimes great men like him can make an error in judgment. as i recall he made a trip to see chavez and that was very controversial. my memory banks are vacation. maybe you have more knowledge.

      • candymarl

He visited Chavez? That’s it? When has Chavez ever attacked the US? Never. Even Bush, who hates Chavez, never accused him of terrorism against the US.

Belafonte was against Jim Crow when it wasn’t popular. Belafonte was against apartheid when it wasn’t popular. Belafonte was for equal educational benefits for AA’s when it wasn’t popular. Belafonte was for equal pay for equal work for AA’s when it wasn’t popular. He was for more positive black role models in the public sphere when Step ‘n Fetchit were all the rage.

He has also fought for equal rights for women when it wasn’t popular.

I am not happy that he’s now being dismissed as a mere shadow of Sean Penn because someone doesn’t like Penn’s views.

Oh yeah and the carnage in Haiti? Penn and Belafonte were two of the few voices to speak out against it.

These people may be performers but they are also citizens. Many of them give a lot of time and money to very worthy causes. Does that mean we should kiss their butts? No. But the fact that some are willing to risk their popularity for what they believe in puts them way ahead of most elected politicians of either party.

It’s laughable that Americans still take media personalities as the absolute truth source for anything!

Not that I care for Brangelina, but at least they are putting their money into action in New Orleans. The rest? Meh!

Does mainstream America really care about WHAT Sean Penn have to say? Or is it just the latest pop culture buzz to hang onto for awhile. Ohh, that’s kind of like Obama-love…

    THANK YOU!!

They all need to shut up and do their jobs and entertain us. You make millions what the hell are you whining about?

Great post. I’ve always been of the opinion that these “stars” are holding one hand out for the money and giving us the finger with the other. I guess they think it’s cool to be as radical as they can be with their mouths, but I don’t see any of them turning down the patronage of the American people who go to see their movies or who watch their tv shows. Most don’t give back in any substantial way either. Why do they think their opinions should count more than anyone else’s is beyond me. It is pretty arrogant for them to use their fame to subject us to their ugly anti-American views. If we all boycotted their money machine movies etc. I bet they would change their public scripts real fast. Fox is just blasting the auto companies upper management for their still lavish lifestyle while they take the govt handouts. That’s bad, but how about blasting the great ONE for his little vacation in a $9 million dollar seaside resort house on an island that’s pretty expensive to vacation on? Who paid for the plane that took him and his Chicago friends on that little jaunt? That’s ok right people? How about that cheap inaugural celebration coming up? Do the O people care that the country is financially falling apart? Nope, Nero plays while America burns. No compassion at all, only arrogance and disregard for the citizens of our hurting America. Oh and how much did the Obamas give to charities anyway? How’s Michelle’s ring doing these days? $30,000 value is that right? Probably just rumor anyway. Just a trinket for these guys, but ask someone who couldn’t provide much for their family’s Christmas this year if it was just a trinket. Hypocrits all.

He spent almost a billion on getting himself elected. Imagine all the better uses that money could have been put to

Sean Penn is a talented actor who takes himself waaaay too seriously. Surrounded by sycophants, he believes them when they constantly tell him he’s a “genius.” Two of his best friends are Susan Sarandon & Tim Robbins–need we say more?

Sean Penn is a talented actor who takes himself waaaay too seriously.

Well, who ever would have thought he would turn out this way, especially after watching him play Jeff Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgmont High? I thought he was going to grow up to be this really awesome dude.

      • oowawa

According to the trivia comments on IMDB regarding Fast Times at Ridgmont High:

Sean Penn extinguished a cigarette in the palm of his hand in order to better understand his character Jeff Spicoli.

Now it’s hard not to respect that kind of dedication to one’s craft. I don’t even want to think of what he might have put himself through in order to play Harvey Milk.

What the hell is the problem many of you have with Penn? The guy is smart, compassionate, and knows what is going on, which is more than I can say for a lot of you.

Give your criticism of him a rest.
