It IS quite entertaining, isn’t it? I live in Illinois and, believe me, this story was the lead story on all the major Chicago networks last night. LOL! He called their bluff and now they’re scrambling to figure out WTF to do…..because, as you said, he hasn’t been convicted of anything and he IS still the Gov. Me thinks BO and Reid have someone else in mind for that seat and it isn’t Roland. NEVER in their wildest dreams did they think Blago had this much Chutzpah. There’s no doubt in my mind he has garbage on BOTH Rahm and BO. Why else would he be so bold??? They know that he knows they are dirty. What’s a corrupt politician to do? My oh my. I can’t wait to find out.

The first gift for 2009! I laughed myself silly when he make his announcement. I don’t know how he kept a straight face either. He did look like he was having fun. Now there’s a real politician…worthy of Huey Long!

BTW, will someone please tell Bobby Rush that since 11/4, this is a post-racial country and he should knock off the references to putting an AA in office. Obviously Mr. Burris is the most qualified citizen of Illinois to serve in the US Senate and who only happens to be black. Hahahahaha…

Of course, the US Senate rules allow Reid et al to admit or deny anybody they feel like. That’s what makes this so brilliant; make Reid and the rest of the dirtbags bar the door to the legally-selected highly-qualified AA guy. Put Obama in a tough spot by making him choose sides. Maybe the Republicans can add some fuel to the fire by demanding publicly that Burris be seated for all the aforementioned reasons. Ah, yes, the most ethical Congress in history! Screw you, dirtbags, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of a$$holes.

It appears that the Gov. from Illinois just said. If I go down, I won’t go down alone. He has not been indicted or impeached, so does this mean with Obama pres-elect, that anyone is guilty even before indictments? What A great way of an (in your face statement) to Obama and his cronies. Go Gov Go!

Blago played his state Legislature and Dems on this one. They dragged their feet on stripping him of his power and this is the result. The Illinois Legislature along with Fitzgerald should shoulder the most blame as this occurred in their backyard. All Reid is doing is making a local political mess national, and making his party look bad in the process. He’s basically giving the Repubs fodder to use against him. All he had to say was we’ll wait until the legal process played out and we’ll go from there. No, Reid foolishly embroiled the national party’s business into a local matter now the entire democratic party has to answer embarrassing questions. Reid was forced to act quickly thought due to the ineptitude of the Illinois Dems however, but it doesn’t absolve him of overreaching. I don’t blame Blago for doing his constitutional duty by appointing Burris to this seat, as he has not been convicted of any charges. However, the Illinois Legislature should share the bulk of the blame for this fiasco.

It is the political play of the month for December…bare knuckles politics. Blago can play this game because he has some secrets about Emanuel and Obama…we will all get to figure them out next year. Throw another log on that fire…..

If true, that makes it even better. Reid is either forced to have Burris shoved up his a** by Blago or risk a troublesome court battle he is likely to lose. I wouldn’t be suprised if Obama and Reid are not calling people now saying “PLEASE find us something bad about Burris that we can use to justify keeping him out of the Senate.” This may end up being the mother of all mudfights.

It is more ironical than most people know.

In 2001 leading up to the 2002 March primary, there were several candidates for governor. Many dropped out, except for three. They were Blago, Burris and Paul Vallas.

Paul Vallas had been the head of the Chicago Public Schools until Mayor Richard Daley (i.e., Richard the Second) “encouraged” Paul to run for governor as a means of forcing him out.

Blago won the primary, Vallas came in second and Burris was last. Vallas was considered to be the best candidate and Burris was the spoiler.

I voted for Vallas in the primary and I voted for Blago reluctantly in the general. Blago’s opponent was Jim Ryan (not the former gov. serving time).

Could it be that Blago’s choice of Burris is a way of paying back the spoiler who allowed Blago to be the Democratic nominee in 2002?

He then recruited Bobby Rush to play the race card as soon as his announcement was made. The race card will be used to influence the jury pool and the Black Democratic Caucus simultaneously. He got one over on his party and the people who wanted him out in one fell swoop. Obama, who as the President-elect has no influence over any of the proceedings, is unfortunately subjected to criticism by wingnuts and PUMAs even though he has nothing to do with this matter. His old senate seat is the only thing connecting him to this issue and nothing more. All this speculation and hope that he’s somehow connected when all the evidence points to the contrary, is only making you PUMAs even more like the paranoid losers that you are.

For weeks after the election Norm Coleman led Franken by hundreds of votes and Reid and company were very quiet.

The Democrats may use this dubious “certification” to actually seat Franken in the Senate on January 6 — before the process in Minnesota is even complete!

The Democrats have claimed they were for a fair and honest recount, but the facts show this was simply a lie.

The effort to subvert a fair vote is so obvious, even a Democratic election official in Minneapolis admitted votes are being counted twice.

“I know it happened in several precincts,” she said.

Simply put, the Ritchie led Secretary of State office wants to decide this election in Franken’s favor and certify him the “winner.”
They want Reid and Senate Democrats to seat him in the Senate.

They don’t care if Coleman fights the election in court — after the fact.
As National Republican Senatorial Chair Texas Senator John Cornyn stated: “Al Franken is falsely declaring victory based on an artificial lead created on the back of the double counting of ballots.”

As usually, you PUMAs fail basic reading comprehension. I’m not decrying the use of the race care at all. I totally understand why it was used. Blago played everybody. Burris, Rush, the Legislature, everyone. It was a brilliant move on his part. Reid, although resistant now, doesn’t want to be opposed to a qualified black person being rejected for that seat. It damages the Dems relationship with one of it’s most powerful voting blocks. The story had gotten so big that he had to say we’ll not seat Blago’s pick. Also, If Burris were white, this story would not be as huge as it is now. Blago is influencing his jury pool and the Congressional Black Caucus at the same time. Reid, like the Illinois Legislature will eventually have to concede and seat Burris anyway. There’s nothing in the State and US Constitution to deny Burris, and Blago used this to his advantage. They better hope that they find some sort of dirt on Burris as that’s the only way that he can be denied. BTW, I’m black.

8. His naming of Clinton Yes-man Eric Holder as AG. Holder was the pigeon that Clinton used to sign off of the pardon of scumbag, Marc Rich.

9. The naming of a washed-up, bunch of has-beens to his Cabinet. All were part of the corrupt and overrated Clinton administration.

10. The naming of Hillary Clinton, and thus Bill, to the Secretary of State despite all of Bill’s shady foreign dealings.

11. Already going back on campaign promises to end the war, close Guantanamo, and raise taxes.

12. Keeping the Secretary of Defense from the Bush administration despite criticizing the war.

13. Shady connection to Tony Rezco and ACORN.

Yeah it must be racism, none of the above is legitimate criticism.

Violation of US Constitution. Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., is a foreign national from Africa Kenya. Obama is not a U.S. citizen and can not be President. The U.S. Constitution requires that solely a person being a native born US citizen to be President. It is unconscionable that a President fears showing his alleged U.S Birth certificate to the American public. Therefore, all acts signed by Obama, and all appointments made, are null and void Ab initio as Obama has no powers pursuant to the U.S Constitution to act as President.

The state of Hawaii has said that the document in its vault is valid. It has not stated that information on the certificate of live birth on O’s web site matches what is on the vault copy. Nor can it release the information or publicly publish its own valid copy without O’s permission which will not be forthcoming.

Thus there is room to question the certificate displayed on O’s site.

They started wire tapping Blagojevich on Oct 21, 2008. It states as such on page 7 of the indictment. The internal report shows that Obama has not spoken with Blagojevich and Rahm Emanuel only spoke to him once and to John Harris 4 times. If there were discrepancies between what was said in the report and Fitzgerald’s indictment that were pertinent to the case, we’d have heard of them by now. Unfortunately, this is the state of Chicago politics. Everyone who has served in public office there has had to work with these people. There doesn’t have to be any charges on them, but if they worked with them or associate with them in any capacity, you’re guilty by association. No charges of corruption have been filed against Obama. Hell, the man doesn’t have a parking ticket against him. I conclude that’s the reason he won’t release the original BC.

I’ve read multiple news stories about Fitzgerald. Even people who don’t like him say he’s as clean as you get and bases his prosecutions on what he can prove. He has no reputation of railroading or partisanship when it comes to prosecutions.

Skinny Malinky, you may need to read here more often. This is not just a “conservative blog site.” It may not fit into the “progressive” category that you prefer, but I, who have come here often, have often been accused of being the most liberal of all my family, friends, and cohorts who consider themselves Democrats.

The thing is that we are democrats here with the lower case “d.” Vote fraud is vote fraud and undermines our country whether it be of the “R” variety or the “D” variety. I personally saw the “O” variety during the primary, myself and have grown to hate the stinking practice.

I am not sure whether Blagojevich (sp?) has anything on The Most Precious Highness and his minions or not. I don’t really care at this point. As he keeps the spotlight on Chicago style politics, the whole country keeps being reminded of the muck, morass, bog, or whatever you want to call it, that Obama rose out of so pristine and pure. (Of course I am being facetious.) Obama’s and Reid’s responses will indeed show their pureness. That is all I am hoping for–more chances to expose the character of our newly found Messiah!!

Well, maybe it’s because I say I can’t stand Obama and don’t use the word hate, I don’t fit that profile. I’ve never believed much I’ve heard about Obama. I never did believe all that hope and change and unicorns, rainbows, and puppy dogs bullshit!

As I said, I just find the whole undemocratic nature of political maneuvering in Illinois ridiculous and (do I dare say it?) dirty. It does appear to me, being from the West in Colorado, that Chicago politics, no matter how you couch it in your superior rhetorical style, are dirty politics. It is not the ideal in my idealistic, naïve mind (an idealism and naiveté I lost big time during the primary based on O’s “in-your-face,” fraudulent ways) of the Democratic Party I thought I belonged to–a party I left thanks to O. I dislike O mostly for “educating” about the true dirty nature of our voting process.

The caucus fraud complaints and the Fitzgeral investigation have not played out yet. O is innocent until proven guilty, but according to his camp, Blagojevich is not and his appointees are invalid. We’re pointing out it works both ways.

Hey Juan, the article in question is focused only on Hillary Clinton and Bill Richardson’s involvement with Hsu, not Obama’s. Granted, they both will be working for Obama. However, if these charges stick, which I doubt that they will, only Hillary and Richardson will be affected. Meaning he’ll only have to fire them both if they are found guilty of any wrongdoing.
