There are clerics and philosophers who spend a lifetime ruminating about the ultimate nature of the universe; I, on the other hand, ponder the mysteries of the Ineffable Spam Filter, which ultimately may be the same kind of meditation.

I have reached a few conclusions:
1--It is absolutely necessary for the workings of the Spam Filter to be a complete mystery: if the Spammers can figure out the rules, the Spam Filter is useless.
2--In order for the Spam Filter to remain a complete mystery, there must be a certain amount of arbitrary and senseless operation. Some perfectly good and harmless posts must be trashed along with the spam in order to maintain Inscrutable Credibility. Some of the righteous must perish along with the wicked. Call it "collateral damage."
3--In order to maintain our sanity as devout residents of the blogosphere, we must accept the premises of 1 and 2 above, and humbly submit to having some of our good and decent posts trashed for no reason whatsoever. It is the price of living in this admittedly unjust universe. Abraham must be willing to offer up Isaac, no questions asked. And so be it.

It's really good soup, organic, and creamy, in texture.

You really can't go back to the cans after you eat it...

I hereby promise to stop hitting "Add comment" reflexively.

I bought "Scarpetta" for my Kindle....Kay and Benton are married. She gave up her little carriage house in Charleston to move to Boston for him. There's a mysterious, anonymous NY gossip blog involved (imagine that). Kay is now a regular contributor to CNN and also mentions the misogyny in the last election cycle. Kay must've been a Hillary supporter. Love Cornwell. I may have to try some of those soups and nuts too.

That is so weird -- porno? I had to dump an email address I had for years because some nitwit put my email address on every single porno list he could find. He was the son of a democrat (campaign 2000) and the kid hated Tipper Gore.

I'll bet that same kid (now grown up) is an O-bot and he's still at his old tricks.

ANYWAY -- thanks so much for the tip about that pan -- it is my absolutely favorite pan. I love to make what I call a "boat stew" -- everything in one pan -- perfect for our cold, damp Northwest winters.

I'll order some of the Rice Flour -- I use a lot of that for muffins.

Thanks for the spam tips -- I've just kept sending again and again. And you're right -- once Spammy decides to eradicate a post -- no matter how you change the dang thing -- Spammy keeps telling me that I've already said that.

Yes, Susan, it is THE BEST. Really, I had that last 12 inch pan for at least ten years and used it every day. I actually never put it away and kept it on the stove top because I knew I would always use it. I have a set of Calphalon that is older too. But I am thinking that I need the new one. It really does change the way you cook when you have the appropriate cookware. Thanks again. I can't BELIEVE I got another 12 inch for this price.

The soups, too, Pacific Natural, are very good, just as Susan said, the cream of tomato, and mushroom broth most excellent.

Isn't that the best cookware ever? Santa brought me some of that set.... and I made rice in it. Then I made so much rice, with vegetables and nuts mixed in, that I had enough for 3 more meals. So I kept heating it up, adding a bit of water and a bit of butter.

When it was all gone, what was at the bottom of that pan? You know the usual scene with a pan like that... there's be a big sticky bunch of gunk stuck hard to the bottom of the pan that'd require steel wool and lots of elbow grease to clean out.

This Calphalon pan? Just a few specks of rice and flecked right off. OH, I couldn't believe it. NO MORE SCRUBBBING POTS AND PANS FOR HOURS! So cool. It's worth every penny.

AND, it's not the bad kind of non-stick that's carcinogenic. It's 100% safe.
