A great American and loyal reader (thanks FL) shared a report recently produced by not-for-profits Essential Information and The Consumer Education Foundation. This report, Sold Out: How Wall Street and Washington Betrayed America, has gotten little to no attention in the general media. What a shame.

But Paul Krugman is. And he had this to say about the team Obama has put together to deal with the economy: All the President’s Zombies. Nice title, eh? Pretty much sums it up, but Mr. Krugman does go on to explain: Ben Bernanke’s testimony over the past two days gives us our best clue [...]

Stay tuned for LD’s Central Station — which is turning into a weekly Saturday morning LIVE chat that is NOT to be missed! — starting at 9:00 a.m. to Noon where you can ask the master himself, LD (!), as we navigate the economic landscape. LD is a Wall Street veteran who welcomes sharing his [...]

(bumped up from earlier this evening) I couldn’t resist weighing in on Frank Rich’s latest lefty missive to poke another stick in the eye of Republicans, even though it is obvious there is plenty of blame to go around regarding our current economic crisis. Rich begins his rant: Here’s a bottom line to keep you [...]

In light of the disaster that is Wall Street, I do not know if I am simply dumbfounded or merely dismayed by the softball questioning of prospective SEC chairwoman Mary Schapiro yesterday. With the dissolution of the investment banking model, the massive injections of government capital, and potential indictments of major Wall Street icons in [...]

Yesterday John McCain made this statement regarding Senator Obama’s infomercial which aired via his multi-million dollar ad buy on CBS, NBC, FOX, UNIVISION, MSNBC, and NY1: “When you’re watching this gauzy, feel-good commercial, just remember that it was paid for with broken promises. Senator Obama signed a piece of paper committing to public financing of [...]

Created by the conservative group “Let Freedom Ring,” this one-minute ad just aired during prime time in the swing state where I live. I think it’s very effective.

I have a funny story for you – some comic relief from all of the sexism, class warfare, racism charges, defacing of property, etc. Just to give us all a it of a break two weeks before the election. But first, I do want to point out that a lot is going on AGAIN with [...]

There have been some complaints that not enough is being written on the Economy, and that there is too much focus on Obama’s shady past. True enough, the stock market hasn’t been looking too good this past week. Or the week before that. Or even the week before that one. But plenty of folks have [...]

But sadly, too many people choose to ignore it, or accept it, or just call you a racist for noticing it. But the pattern is there. It begins like this: Obama has a friend or associate that is questionable. Video or articles surface of Obama thanking them, supporting them, writing a blurb for their book, [...]

The American Issues Project, the 501 (c)4 organization whose first ad exposed Obama’s long-term friendship with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and which the Obama team tried to quash, released a new ad on Wednesday about the economic meltdown, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, and corruption. This ad does not mention Obama or the fact he [...]

My neighbor, with some input from me, penned this letter to our senators and representative today: Please participate in rescuing our economy. I realize you are being deluged by angry people who object to the “bailout” but the results of NOT acting are so dire that we need you to act courageously on this. The [...]

Here is the outline of the draft agreement for the bailout: draft-bailout-agreement.pdf The problem is in paragraph 3c–it earmarks money for the Capital Magnet Fund. A site, Blogs for McCain, has the story: In the “agreement in principle,” there is the effect of a major “earmark” which commits money from future “profits” to be given [...]
