The riot organizers in London on Wednesday were NOT students. If you see the name ACORN International surface as the force behind this “community organized” hijacking, you should not be surprised.

First. In Great Britain the phrase Middle Class is near equivalent to the phrase Upper Class in the U.S. A spokeswoman for the student union that organized the peaceful protest states that she had permission from the police and the peaceful protest was planned with knowledge and permits from the authorities. What happened?

The title of this post came from a story in the UK DailyMail.

National Union of Students president Aaron Porter condemned the violence as “despicable”.

“This was not part of our plan,” he said.

“This action was by others who have come out and used this opportunity to hijack a peaceful protest.”

“The people who organized the splinter protest are not known to us,” said Ben Whittaker, vice president of the National Union of Students. “We don’t think they’re students. It could be anarchist groups, who’ve obviously been planning this for some time.”

Dan Ashley, a spokesman for the University and College Union, which represents faculty members, echoed the sentiment. “It has nothing to do with us,” he said.

Somebody, obviously, bussed in professional protesters, who were not students, to elevate the event from a peaceful public statement to a violent protest. Public (the government that is owned by the people) austerity is an enemy of those wanting an ever-growing public trough.

Now. Take a spin around the globe.

Trick question: Who led the protests against Obama in India last Monday? Unexpected answer: ACORN. Is ACORN organized in London? According to Wade Rathke, the shamed, ousted founder of ACORN, ACORN International is only fully organized yet in seven countries.

Affiliates of ACORN International listed so far in:

    * Argentina
* Peru
* Canada
* Dominican Republic
* Kenya
* Mexico
* Honduras
* Kenya
* India

Inside the slum lies an impolitic connection from Obama’s past that – like Shakespeare’s Falstaff – could have helped balance the president’s view into the lives of citizens here.

The ACORN Foundation India works to organize the slum’s trash collectors and sorters known as “ragpickers.” The group was set up separately by the founder of the ACORN community organization that Obama once worked with in America.

In India, the model does not involve widespread voter registration of the poor – partly because groups like the ragpickers are disenfranchised in the world’s largest democracy. Many of them are migrants or homeless who lack the proof of residence papers needed to vote, says Vinod Shetty, the Mumbai head of the ACORN India Foundation. – CSM

ACORN leads protest against Obama in India.

Had President Barack Obama stopped to survey the crowd of Indian leftists protesting in the heart of New Delhi on Monday, he might have seen a familiar name on some placards: ACORN.

So what’s it doing in India,

As befits an organization torn apart in the end by internal chaos, ACORN International has grown out of a schism between ACORN founder Wade Rathke and a group of leaders who ousted him in 2008 amid criticism of his governance. Politico

Raising the tuition in England’s schools to almost half the U.S. average, and the students’ reaction to the change creates a worthy story that is not being discussed in this post. Not sorry here if you felt mislead by the subject.

What is evident is this disturbing fact. There is a lot of money in professional organizing. Astroturfing and professional subversive rabblerousing is a big business and people are entering this business with little regard to anyone else around them. Furthermore, corporations and factions within governments, to move policy for the gain of the few, while costing much to the many, are using these “community organization” companies in a way that helps the average citizen remain confused and tilted against policies they – the average citizen – did not know was an issue, until they saw the “masses” protest.

So this is community organizing? Do you think Obama told the government leaders in India that this, COBS (Community Organizing Bull Shit) is a new U.S. “export” brought to them by the young lawyer, with no bar exam results, who kept ACORN alive in Chicago?

ps. It is probably just a webmaster mistake. But, did you notice that ACORN International’s website menu of Affiliates lists Kenya TWICE?

Surprise, surprise – the Senate has FINALLY grown a backbone, and voted 83-7 (and this is not a big surprise – both senators from IL voted against this measure, as well as Hillary Clinton’s replacement – a disappointment) to cut off Housing funds to ACORN. It took the exposure of how ACORN works by two young people who posed as a pimp and a prostitute, two people who took it upon themselves to be true investigative journalists, who demonstrated just how ACORN truly operates. Thus far, they have released three different videos of their undercover work in DC, Baltimore, and Brooklyn (and there may be another video forthcoming). Since their exposes, at long last, the organization which has received $53 million of our tax dollars, and which stands to get billions in the current stimulus bill, is getting some comeuppance:

The House still has to vote on cutting housing Funds to ACORN.

Fox News has a poll HERE asking if ACORN’s funds should be frozen.

And, as a result of these videos referenced above, the Census Bureau will NOT be using ACORN in 2010. That is huge – given the number of investigations and guilty pleas regarding voter fraud, it is shocking that they were ever even going to be a part of the 2010 Census in the first place, but that’s politics, apparently.

Stay tuned for the House vote on freezing HUD funds to ACORN. We’ll see if they do what’s right, or what’s political.

UPDATE: American Girl in Italy gave me a heads up on this article, “House GOP To Call For Total Cutoff Of Federal Funds To ACORN,” which states:

Today House Republicans will introduce a bill that would end all federal funding to ACORN and its affiliates. Republicans are also sending a letter to President Obama on the same subject.

The action comes after the release, on the website BigGovernment, of three undercover videos showing ACORN employees in Baltimore, Washington DC, and New York City offering advice on how to evade taxes, cover up prostitution activity, and abet the use of minors in prostitution. In the wake of those disclosures, the U.S. Census cut its ties with ACORN, and yesterday the Senate voted 83-7 to cut off housing funds for the organization.

House Republicans point out that they have long pushed for a cutoff in government funding for ACORN. Republican leader John Boehner last year sent a letter to President Bush asking for the defunding of ACORN. There is already Republican legislation calling for the total cutoff of Housing and Urban Development Department funds to ACORN, and Rep. Darrell Issa, the ranking Republican on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, took a leading role in pushing for the Census Bureau decision.

Wow. Should be an interesting time in the House! Stay tuned!

We have been exposed to an education lately on International Law and the Rule of Law. Everyone has been following the torture memos and some of us have a quaint understanding of how the U.S. signing the treaty at the Geneva Convention forcibly influenced laws that we were required, by the treaty, to add to our books. That treaty suits us and most of us don’t argue with the fact that we signed and ratified it.

But what if the U.S. was considering signing an international treaty that – in essence – violated our Bill of Rights? Remember. We DO have rights that some countries do not afford their subjects.

Back up. Did you know that the U.S. does not have to pass any laws to inhibit your 2nd amendment rights? If the UN sanctions an international treaty then any country signing and ratifying the treaty is under international law, bypassing our traditional balance-of-power safeguards. An international treaty signed by the president only needs to be ratified by the Senate. The House does not get to vote on it and U.S. courts cannot alter international law. It becomes law.

In 1997 Bill Clinton signed CIFTA but the Senate has refused to ratify it. This law would make it illegal for you to reload your own ammunition, register to carry your gun to go out hunting, possibly make gun clubs illegal and grant the other treaty countries the right to have you extradited to their country for prosecution on charges such as selling a gun at a gun show and that gun ending up in their very democratic (NOT) country. Article V Jurisdiction. They would know if you did anything wrong because the treaty calls for each country to openly share everything they know about you and your gun ownership and transfers with all those friendly South American countries. Article XIII Exchange of Information.

There are more anti-gun provisions in this treaty than all the gun control laws we have seen come before congress this year combined. I don’t know about you but I do not relish the thought of Hugo Chavez getting upset with one of my comments and demanding that I be delivered unto him – on some trumped up gun charge – for a heaping helping of some Venezuelan justice that could make even Dick Cheney cringe.

In Article IV, parties commit to adopting “necessary legislative or other measures” to criminalize illicit manufacturing and trafficking in firearms. Remember that “illicit manufacturing” includes reloading and modifying or assembling any firearm in any way. And, while treaties should not trump the Bill of Rights (in contrast to what the Supreme Court held in Missouri v. Holland), they do have the force of statute — which would mean that the Obama administration could promulgate regulations on the basis of this treaty which would ban any modification or machining of any firearm in any manner whatsoever except by license of the government.

Article IV goes on to state that the criminalized acts should include “association or conspiracy” in connection with “said offenses” — which is arguably a term broad enough to allow, by regulation, the criminalization of entire pro-gun organizations or gun clubs, based on the facilities which they provide their membership.

Knowing that bills such as HB 45 (Bobby Rush – IL) that could put you in jail for keeping a gun anywhere your 17 year old son could reach, such as in his hand while he is squirrel hunting, will likely fail, President Obama went to Mexico and pledged to his “american idol” fan base there that he would urge the U.S. Senate to ratify this treaty, giving the United Nations the right to dictate the terms under which you may own a gun – or not.

Dianne Feinstein and Richard Durbin have been leading an effort to get this treaty ratified since February 26, 2009 and will lead the charge, along with John Kerry to push this through the Senate. There are four binding acts the U.S. Senate can execute without judicial oversight or input from the House of Representatives. Confirm Judges; Confirm Cabinet Appointments; Confirm Ambassadors and Ratify Treaties.

The administration softened up the electorate by publishing the Right Wing Extremist report and there may just be enough “lie down and surrender our rights to keep the radical conservative kooks and Ron Paul supporters away from a loaded gun” support to allow the Senate to ratify this treaty without public protest.

We must not let this happen. It is going to take action by people other than the NRA to stop this. Anyone who believes that the “rule of law” in this country should be written in this country under our system of creating law should act. That means contacting your U.S. Senators, sharing this article and urging all of your friends to take action as well.

Sanford’s interview, please click HERE.) Bear in mind that SC has a very high unemployment rate right now, so we most definitely have a horse in this race. Gov. Sanford is not being a PollyAnna here. Rather than continue the band-aide mentality and prolong the agony like Japan did, Gov. Sanford wants to deal with the issues up front. The recovery would come sooner through the natural course of events (a bit of Darwinism, if you will), rather than prolonging it by continuing with the Stimulus Package that doesn’t do enough for job creation. It is an interesting take by the governor.

And another Southerner has spoken up, too. Rep. Heath Shuler, former NFL quarterback who is in his second term, represents the Western part of NC. And he supported Hillary Clinton for president. Well, he is taking Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to task for their “failed leadership” in drafting this stimulus package. He claims they have failed by not engaging in a bi-partisan manner in detailing this package. He said in this <a href=""In order for us to get the confidence of America, it has to be done in a bipartisan way," Shuler said in Raleigh following an economic forum. "We have to have everyone - Democrats and Republicans standing on the stage with the administration - saying 'We got something done that was efficient, stimulative and timely.'"">AP article:

“In order for us to get the confidence of America, it has to be done in a bipartisan way,” Shuler said in Raleigh following an economic forum. “We have to have everyone – Democrats and Republicans standing on the stage with the administration – saying ‘We got something done that was efficient, stimulative and timely.’”

He continued:

“I truly feel that’s where maybe House leadership and Senate leadership have really failed,” Shuler said.

Wow. A Democrat who actually cares about fulfilling the promises made by Obama (though honestly – why did anyone believe him? There were NUMEROUS examples of Obama failing to work across the aisle during his exceedingly brief time in the Senate, unlike, say, CLINTON, who did actually work in a bi-partisan manner.).

Oh, and get this – Shuler thinks the package should actually be about job creation through infrastructure spending, though he was very concerned about the amount of debt the current package would create. Huh. What a concept. Shame that didn’t occur to any of these other bozos who allegedly represent us.

And I am sure you have heard by now about what else has been hidden in this package. Oh, this is a DOOZY. Seems there were some, um, INTERESTING little health care tidbits in the package the Senate is trying to ram through. Turns out there are three very odd components in there: 1. ration health care for senior citizens; 2. limit medical research; and 3. and monitoring doctors’ treatment decisions. You should hear the hooey being spewed by some of the senators I have seen today on how stuff like this got in there, and how they didn’t know if it was really there or not BECAUSE THEY HAVEN’T HAD TIME TO READ IT ALL!!!! Yet, they are VOTING on it this morning! As I have previously reported, there is all KINDS of pork built into this package, and now this on health care. Reports are that Tom Daschle got these items put in – which begs the question, HOW? He is not an elected official, and I am pretty sure he had already canned himself for the Health and Human Services job because he, too, is a tax evader (on a MASSIVE scale). Here is Megyn Kelly talking to Senator Arlen Specter about this add-in:

So, how did it get in there, then??? And, how are we to know if it is taken out? Since, as Senator Specter kept saying, this package is hundreds and hundreds of pages long, it seems to me that maybe, just MAYBE, SOMEONE could have taken the time to read the damn thing before they decided to vote on it. Oh, but that would mean “CATASTROPHE!!!!” to the country for them to actually take a day or two for them to have committee meetings and know what the hell is in there. How could I forget?? Pathetic. What a pathetic bunch of legislators they are. And Specter should be ashamed of himself for keeping his “commitment” to pass this package. His “commitment” SHOULD be to the people of the country. Funny how these senators and representatives keep forgetting that…

On a different note, wild fires continue to rage in Australia in an area beset with drought for a decade. Now they believe the fires were the work of an arsonist. Sadly, almost 200 people have died, some in the most horrific ways imaginable (trapped in their cars). Many people have lost their homes in these fires. It is a senseless tragedy, and if I may, let us just take a moment and remember that we are all connected. Even in the midst of the frustrations with our political leaders, our own economic or health concerns, let us remember that others are suffering, too, or have lost their lives, through no fault of their own. Rather, through an act, deliberate in nature, that has affected so many. And continues to do so, with thousands of firefighters working to squelch these flames. We are, all of us, connected.

My thoughts and prayers go out for those lost, and for those who have lost so much…May these fires be contained quickly, and with no more loss of life…

Welcome Senator Gillibrand. You are not in your sleepy upstate county anymore. Welcome to the big show. Welcome to the shark tank. I hope you have some good repellant, you may need it if some of the stories in the press mean anything.

Going through my paper this morning there was a podium picture of those who came to Albany to support Governor Paterson and his choice Rep. soon to be Senator Gillibrand. Front and center in the front row is former Senator Alfonse D’Amato from the other side of the aisle.

Also present was the County Executive from upstate Monroe County Maggie Brooks who is also a Republican. Not often you see two Republicans attend the announcement of the appointment of a new Senator from the other party.

Also with the new Senator’s rating from the NRA, a 100% rating, Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy, a Democrat from Long Island, is not happy with the choice, and “snubbed” the announcement as my paper Newsday put it and has vowed to run in a primary against Senator Gillibrand if nobody else does. For those of you who do not remember or do now know, Congresswoman McCarthy’s husband was among 6 killed and her son was among 19 injured on a Long Island Railroad Train when Colin Ferguson took out a gun and starting shooting for no reason in 1993. She was elected to congress on a strong anti-gun and gun control platform.

So job one is to get everyone familiar with the Senator who when all the paperwork is filed in Washington will be sworn in as the junior Senator from New York sometime Sunday. Her first meeting/appearance is with Rev. Al Sharpton at his weekly rally at headquarters in Harlem. Now for someone from upstate, you don’t get more downstate than that. She said the economy was her first priority and she did take some questions about her gun control issues. I am sure there are many more downstate appearances and “get to know you’s” scheduled in the coming weeks and months. After all, once she takes the office she immediately has a seat to protect and a race to run.

Funny though, I have not seen anything on what will happen to her seat in NY’s 20th CD. Are Governor Paterson and the state party going to concede that seat back to the Republicans in what was a major upset just 4 years ago when the now Senator won that seat from an entrenched Republican incumbent in a conservative leaning county.

This choice is obviously to bolster the governor with upstate voters for his pending election in 2010 the next state wide election when he, the entire state leadership and both US Senators (Senator Gillibrand in a special election to serve out the final 2 years of Hillary’s term and Chuck Schumer for his full term) will be up. But here downstate she is not only not only not well known or known at all but does not seem all that popular. It appears there are major splits in the NY Democratic party over this. Another against the pick was Kennedy supporter Mayor Mike Bloomberg a registered Republican who has plenty of money and influence to help elect the newly minted Senator or an opponent of his choosing. Mayor Bloomberg said in a story in the Washington Post this morning, “She has actively opposed the efforts of New York City, and cities around the state and nation, to enact common-sense measures that keep illegal guns out of the hands of criminals,” he said in a statement. “For instance, she has voted to keep critical data needed to track illegal gun traffickers from law enforcement, has voted to tie the hands of the ATF, and has also voted to protect dealers who sell guns illegally.” You can read the whole Post story here.And as you can see it is not the gun control people who have problems with the new Senator’s voting record.

Now I know many out there in the NQ readership and radio audience are looking at this appointment as the governor appointing a woman to finish out Hillary’s term. And there is something to that. However I am not sure how I feel about this appointment. I am looking at it on the issues, not on gender. I don’t care if a candidate is a man or a woman, black, white, red, blue or green. I care what they have to say and what they do. It is one of the reasons I supported Hillary Clinton in her runs for Senate and in the primary. In this case I am not happy with my new Senator’s stance with the NRA. You see I have had gun violence touch my life. I don’t want to get in to details but years ago a co-worker was gunned down and murdered in an incident that garnered some national attention due to the sensational nature of the case. So yes, gun control is an issue in my life and something I happen to agree with Congresswoman McCarthy with. So as far as my opinion of this appointment to be honest I don’t know. I am going to have to do my homework on it and see how I feel. And if there is a primary contest I am going to really have to do my due diligence.

I guess this is as good a place as any to plug my NQ Radio show, “No Topic Taboo…Everything Else with Jay” which will be in it’s usual slot, Wednesday night at 9PM Eastern…you know the rest depending on where you live.Now to be perfectly honest I was not sure what the topic of this week’s show was going to be but I guess this qualifies. As always everything is on the table, in addition to the new Senator from NY we can discuss the upcoming Super Bowl in Tampa, the first 8 days of the new administration, oh and here’s something. I got my hands on the Nielsen ratings of the top 58 markets for last week’s <del datetime="2009-01-24T17:35:49+00:00"></del><del datetime="2009-01-24T17:35:49+00:00">coronation</del> I mean inauguration. You might be a little shocked to see who was #1 and where a certain mid-west city landed in the list.

I am really interested what you out in NQ-land feel about this. And you can let me know. You can leave comments here and I may print them out and read them on my show, you can email me at my show email address, ntteewithjay@me.com, or you can call me on show night at 347-677-0792. It’s going to be open line night, you will be my guest so I really can’t do this week’s show without you.

So that’s all I have to say. What about you?

Ok, now, I know that the Dems said they would not seat any appointee by Blago before Burris was appointed, so I don’t really think this is about race. But, I don’t think it looks good to reject a 71 year old, experienced African American candidate for the US Senate. I feel bad for the ol’ guy.

Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy

That said, with the news coming out that Harry Reid disproves of three other African American candidates, I do think Harry is looking a wee bit bigoted.

Why does Harry think JJJ would have a hard time getting re-elected in IL? He is supposedly tight with PEBO. Wouldn’t the Obama supporters vote JJJ in? Although, if JJJ and BO are so tight, why didn’t Obama recommend JJJ for his seat? Hmmm.

(I just love that the people who threw the race card willy-nilly this past year are now getting it back in their faces.)

What I don’t understand is why the Dems are refusing to seat Burris. Blago is still the sitting Governor, he is still, under law, required to appoint a senator. Burris will not run in two years. He is a good pick, as far as I know… an elderly gentleman, who will not run again in two years, he is African American (there aren’t any in the Senate), and he is experienced (according to some, all you need is to be over 30 and have a pulse to be qualified for the Senate).

I really think that Obama stepped out of bounds when he said that Blago should step down, and that they would not seat anyone Blago appoints. Blago has not been convicted of a crime yet. Is it the job of the future President to step into the middle of an ongoing investigation, and basically convict someone? Has he heard of innocent until proven guilty?

And, if it is true that everyone has known for years that Blago was corrupt, it certainly didn’t stop Obama from using him to get ahead in Chicago. Heck, he endorsed Blago.

It seems to me that the Dems have all known Blago was dirty. But no one ever did anything about it. Now that Blago has been arrested, they are all running away, as fast as they can, to prove that they had nothing to do with him, and that they didn’t know anything. Me thinks thee doth protest too much, or something like that.

As for Burris being turned away today, it was because he didn’t have his credentials in order – a piece of paper that he needed signed by the IL SoS Jesse White, but he refused.

So what is the problem? Obama and others have all said that Burris is a good man. Don’t they want good men in the Senate? Yes, Blago has been arrested for corruption, but has Burris been charged with anything? Why are they taking this out on Burris if they all like Burris and he is not charged with anything? Blago is still the sitting Governor, and under the law, he is doing his job.

If Burris is not a good choice, because he is dirty, like they are saying Blago is, then why don’t they (Obama) come out and say it? Why all this, *Burris is a good man and a fine public servant* stuff, and then refuse to seat him. If you are going to meddle in the middle of the Blago case, why not drag Burris down too? If it is because he truly is a good man and a fine public servant, then seat him!

Quit keeping the magic man down, raaaaaaaaaaaacists!

Update: Since publishing this post, Diane Feinstein has broken party lines and backed the appointment of Burris.

“Does the governor have the power, under law, to make the appointment? And the answer is yes,” Feinstein said, urging the Senate to settle the matter. “If you don’t seat Mr. Burris, it has ramifications for gubernatorial appointments all over America. … Mr. Burris is a senior, experienced politician.”

The comments flew in the face of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s assertion that Burris should not be seated in part because the move would be tainted by the Blagojevich scandal.

Well, she is not only taking a swipe at old Harry, but at Obama as well. He too said that Burris should not be seated. Me thinks Diane is still a little peeved at Obama for his *political mistake* by not consulting her before appointing Panetta.

“While they might not be termed racist, their action is racist,” Rush told FOX News. “I think that if Roland Burris hadn’t been an African American, then he would have been allowed to accept the appointment and become a senator.”

Whoop there it is. Whoop there it is….

Some of us were having some chuckles over the fact that Judas Richardson got his due. Now I know everyone is loving this and fully expects him to just be the first of many. But we also realized that we don’t want this scum riding under our bus.

Our bus is special, has lots of cool people and besides there isn’t any more room.

So, we decided that from now on we will not be accepting Obama rejects under the bus. These lowlife of the political world. These supposed friends of Hill and Bill who turned on her. These ones who almost made it through the O’Vetting will now get thrown in the dumpster.

Ohio’s first-term Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner, a Democrat who replaced the infamous Republican Ken Blackwell, has filed an “emergency appeal” with the U.S. Supreme Court. According to the news report I just listened to, when emergency appeals are filed, only one justice reviews the appeal. The justice for Ohio’s area is John Paul Stevens, considered by many to be the most liberal on the Supreme Court. (He’s also “up there” in years, and is one of the justices who conceivably may be replaced in the next eight years.) However, we shall see if he accepts the appeal, and then how he rules.

What else is going on in the world? What are you hearing about the debate last night? (Ani has a report on media reaction coming up soon.)

Governor Ed Rendell tells the PolitikerPA:

“I’m going to cast my ballot for her, and then the moment I cast my vote, I’m going to continue to enthusiastically support Sen. Obama. It’s going to be a good release for all of us.”

He said this in his interview with the PolitikerPA:

Gov. Ed Rendell, in an interview with PolitickerPA.com today, lauded the resolution reached last week that will allow Clinton’s name to be placed in nomination, before U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) ultimately accepts the party’s presidential nomination.

“I think Sen. Obama was extremely generous, and I think it’s good not because it will display any disunity, but because it honors the hard work of so many people who supported Sen. Clinton,” said Rendell, who was one of Clinton’s most visible and vociferous campaigners during the run-up to the state’s April primary. “Many of the Pennsylvania delegates worked their heart out for Sen. Clinton, and they’re excited to cast a vote for her. From my vantage point, that will be closure for them.

Rendell thinks it will be closure for Hillary’s supporters. The only way it will be closure for Hillary supporters is if she is the nominee. Hillary is still the best choice for the Democratic Party.

It is a little too late for Obama to try to woo us over. We are reminded each day that Donna Brazile said there is a new Democratic base and most of us aren’t welcome. Then Obama tells Hillary supporters to just “get over it”.

Thanks Governor Rendell but your promise to vote for Hillary in the Roll Call just isn’t enough.

Governor Rendell, remind the Super Delegates Obama has some real issues, issues that could result in defeat for the Democratic Party in November. Here is the worrisome list of issues (by no means inclusive) that elected delegates and SDs should consider before voting for Obama, False FEC filings, Votes in the IL Senate on the live birth measure, Illegal contributions received from the three brothers in the Gaza Strip, then there is the issue of his birth certificate (a petition drive is underway) to demand the FEC insist that Obama release a certified copy of his birth certificate, continued association with ACORN, a company with a history of voter fraud and misuse of taxpayer money and finally there are his poll numbers, tied with McCain for the third time in two weeks.

See you in Denver!

2:40 p.m. PST UPDATE: I jumped the gun. The poll shows neither Obama or Clinton faring well against McCain — both are within the margin of error of losing to McCain. HOWEVER, I firmly believe that Californians would — with enough campaigning there by Hillary — be more included, come November, to vote for her than they would to vote for Obama, especially given his national security inexperience.

Earlier … then the DNC is more stupid than I already think it is.

You all know what this means: A Republican presidency. WAKE THE FUCK UP, DNC! WAKE THE FUCK UP, SUPERS! Obama will lose in a landslide to McCain in November.

So far this is a rumor (but obviously solid) from the L.A. Times. Here’s what they say:

A new L.A. Times/KTLA poll tested the proposition in McCain matchups with Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. And in at least one of the scenarios, the results may surprise many folks.

We aren’t at liberty to reveal the exact results yet; for that, check out our homepage (latimes.com) about 5 p.m. EDT today (2 p.m. PDT).

Some perspective…

The last Republican to win the state in a White House race was George H.W. Bush in 1988; he defeated Michael Dukakis, 51%-48%. …
